“Sunny and warm”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2014

We stayed a week in the hotel and we used the free parking option rather than the underground paying option with our rental car. Every morning you had to sign up for a free bus shuttle to Taormina for the evening. The location is stunning as you can see the Etna volcano and bay of Girardini Naxos from the terrace you have breakfast to the pool area which has access to the sea. We selected the garden view for our room which still allowed you to walk outside and have a seaview. As we checked in during the afternoon we realised that the beach has no more sun after 2pm and the pool area was nearly full. We understood the trick that from 8 or 9am you had to first go reserve your benches in the pool area before going for breakfast. On the first day we also realised that the restaurant near the pool area only gives you a buffet option for 40 euros per person so the whole week we instead selected the pool bar for lunch. For dinner we always left for Taormina. Overall we had a nice experience and we fell in love with Sicily.

The only minuses of this place are the breakfast that is monotonous, lacks any type of fish, very poor cold-cuts section for such a high rated place only 4 sorts, also lacks a plain yogurt bowl and fruit mix bowl - you have to ask for a "Macedonia", BUT it has a huge bakery ( excellent one) section that sometimes gets old because of its gargantuan dimensions (nobody can eat that much bread and sweet bakery ). WiFi is crazy expensive. We found a huge ROACH in the room( but the staff claimed it "flew" over there - like we care).
Apart that : the pool is rather small so you kinda have to race for your chair. BUT you can bathe into the sea that is magic.
THE VIEW : HEAVENLY - it leaves anyone speechless.
Another plus : the cave beach -unique experience - I recommend that.
GYM : EXPERT LEVEL . The trainer Philipo, is one tough teacher that will change your body in 30 minutes. After an afternoons training with him, you could stuff yourself full and you won't gain a single pound.
Try this place! The atmosphere and the view, will make it worth despite the high rates.

The hotel is built into the cliff with the reception on the top floor and the rooms going down to level 6. All face the sea and most have a verandah with table and chairs.Breakfast al fresco on the top floor overlooking the bay and mount Etna is a great way to start the day. The accommodation was excellent and the food in the restaurants was very good. The lift takes you all the way down to sea level.and a walk through the cave takes you to a private cove or to the sea level restaurant and the swimming pool. Free buses throughout the day and evening take you into Taormina where there are countless bars and restaurants, street performers and fantastic views over the bay. A trip to the top of the grumbling volcano is a must. All in all a magical trip to a very special part of Italy.

Room Tip: The lower the floor, the better the room.

We are still here...going home tomorrow, but writing the review in advance!!! Fabulous hotel, amazing private beach, attentive staff, great pool bars, fascinating infinity pool!!! Prices in the restaurant and all bars are very much like 5*, but atmosphere is very good and live entertainment was fantastic !!! Russian girl Elena at reception was exceptional ! Helped us with tours and dining recommendations. Highly recommend this hotel!

Breathtaking views, great service and perfect location. In this hotel you you can enjoy the day with an espetacular location on the sea. Also a small beach is available to few steps from the elevator. Food is very good, particularly sea food, a bit overpriced but ok. Front desk people were very kind, particularly Mr Santino who did everything to offer a very pleasant stay, including offering a decent place for a late shower before we took a long haul flight.
Bus service to the city center is also a good advantage. Heavily recommend this hotel in Taormina.

Room Tip: Ocean view is worth. Combine sea, Etna vulcano and the city.

This hotel is old. Architectural wise it's horrible and the interior design is tacky. But it's very well located. I would say it's one of the best located in the bay of Taormina. It has a private beach but by 2pm there is no more sun on the beach so you have to walk to the other side where there is a pool and an entrance to the sea. If you are staying in Taormina for very few days i don't recommend this hotel.
