“Thank you Villa Antonio”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2012

My husband and I had our wedding reception at Villa Antonio in September 2012. When we were choosing the venue for our wedding reception, we visited Villa Antonio for dinner so I feel well-equipped to comment upon the restaurant as both an eatery and as a wedding venue.

In relation to the latter, we had the best day of our lives, due (in large part) to the patron of Villa Antonio, Lina. When we chose to have the wedding reception at Villa Antonio, we visited again and she spent hours with us, poring over the details. Lina is extremely attentive and she is, very evidently and justifiably, proud of her business. She catered to my every whim as bridezilla, from hanging up photographs in the room where we danced to stringing ribbon of my choice around the menus, from having pink bourgainvillea picked for the table and to adorn the cake to staying up until 1am the night before going through the table plan with us.
We made use of the sun terrace for champage and canapes, while enjoying a little Sicilian music. Dinner was downstairs and was a gastronomic delight. We chose traditional Sicilian fare and it was truly amazing. The wedding cake was huge and delicious.
As for the atmosphere of Villa Antonio for a wedding, it is perfect. The location is ideal as the restaurant overlooks Isola Bella. The waiter service was exceptional. But everyone I have spoken to about the wedding talks of the food.

For those who aren't getting married, I would highly recommend Villa Antonio as a restaurant also. This is not based solely on the food we enjoyed at the wedding but my husband and I had eaten there twice previously. It is clear from the menu that Villa Antonio only uses the finest ingredients. Most of these seem to be local. And the wine is exceptional too. The dishes are imaginative, delicious and well-presented. The portion sizes are also good.

Needless to say, my husband and I have a special affection for Villa Antonio and, anytime we visit Taormina in the future, it will be our first stop for dinner.

All our thanks and love to Lina,
Katie & Paul xxx

“So very romantic...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2012

Along with another reviewer, I attended a wedding reception held in 2012 at Villa Antonio. As a guest, I am not usually been spurred into leaving Tripadvisor reviews of weddings. However, this venue was just perfect and I could not fault it at all!

The restaurant is perched on the side of the Taormina cliffs with an amazing view of la Isola Bella. It is truly stunning. The drinks reception was held on the roof of the restaurant - with the Mediterranean as the back drop. Just ideal and conducive to an extremely romantic event. The canapes were delicious and the fizz had an authentic Italian twist (fresh fruit bellini, anyone?).

The wedding breakfast was served in the main restaurant. Four courses were served, pasta (gorgeous), fish (wonderful), meat (done to perfection) and dessert (to be honest, I was too stuffed!!!). The local wines served really complimented each dish. The restaurant managed each course especially well and it was all impeccably presented and cooked. The service was very good and the staff were welcoming, cordial and attentive.

The bride and groom had also laid on a buffet, but I could not comment on this as I was unable to eat anything else!!! We also had dancing - a band, DJ and even karaoke. The venue hosted all of this with aplomb - we all felt as though we belonged there and in Sicily. It was so much fun!

The venue was perfect for a wedding - really polished but comfortable. I would heartily recommend Villa Antonio to anyone visiting Taormina. I woud especially recommend it to anyone considering it as a venue for their wedding reception.

“Delicious food in beautiful surroundings”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2012

I went to a private wedding reception at Villa Antionio this Autumn. We started the evening with chilled bubbly and delicious canapes (cheese fritters with balsamic glaze, salmon tartare and grapefruit and little paper cones of tempura vegetables to name just few) and music on the sun terrace overlooking the bay. Then we were seated downstairs for the traditional four courses of pasta, fish, meat and dessert. Despite the necessity of having to cook in bulk for 40 guests, the food really was first rate and compared very favouably with the other meals we had in Taormina (some of which were very average considering their price). The staff were very attentive and friendly and the atmosphere was superb. I would highly recomend Villa Antonio to anyone visiting Taormina

“So let down”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2012

We booked ages ago, had a email back to confirm our booking for 4.
Paid out taxi 25 Euros and were meet with what can only be explained as a big let down. The restaurant was we were told fully booked. Thats right we said and heres our email to say we are 4 of the customers who have booked. Oh no, not here not tonight, we have other bookings.
We asked if they could book another restaurant for us and they did. We were told that it would be 2/3 star. We were given a drink and told a taxi is on its way. No one offered to pay for the taxi and we were just left there. So now we are 50 Euros down. As for the 2/3 star it was one of the most average restaurants we have been to.
THANKS VILLA ANTONIO YOU SERVICE IS CR**
