My family and and I stayed at Hotel Villa Ducale last week we found the Hotel to be top notch in all respects. Its run by very a competent staff, how we had most of our dealings they were very accommodating to me and to my children ages 15, 13 and 9. The hotel itself is set up on almost the top of the city of Taormina with spectacular views of the sea below. My dealing with the Owner and his wife were brief but good as he personaly greated me when I arrived which I was very impressed with. The room itself was very nice (on the opposite side of the street from the lobby #5) but also with a view of the sea looking south. Definitely would stay there next time we visit it is a good value for the dollar charged. My gratitude to the staff there Ricardo, Ajith and Sebastiano who we had most of our dealings with and were very competent and very nice. Tell them that "Emma" sent you, that is my daugthers name, they will get a kick out of that!

We discovered Villa Ducale six years ago. We've traveled to Sicily three times since and would not think of staying anywhere else in Taormina. Our latest visit was end of May 2005. We could not wait to get there. The entire staff, starting from the owners Andrea and his beautiful wife Rosaria, the General Manager Sebastiano, and all the others... have become our true friends. Visiting Villa Ducale is like coming into a beautiful home and visiting friends and family, all in a beautiful and peaceful environment with Mount Etna and the Aeolean Sea in the background. In addition, the owners have made some wonderful enhancements in recent years... updating the rooms and bathrooms; adding a shuttle service to/from town, and providing dinner in the evening. Rosario and I cannot wait to return. We would pack our bags right now if you could. Ci vediamo presto... tutti amichi alla Villa Ducale! Rosario and Rosemary King

i spent 3 wonderful days in this magical spot , I WOULD RECCOMEND THE ducale to all my friends . Taormina is one of the most beautiful places in the world and this hotel is the best all-in-all . You must stay here .

Located high above the town center, the Romantik Villa Ducale commands an awesome view of the The Ionian Sea and Mt Etna. The owner Andrea and staff were exceedingly hospitable and gracious. The gardens were lovely. We were very comfortable in our spacious room (12). The walk back up the hill from the town center is not for everyone, but transportaion was available. We especially enjoyed our meals at the two nearby restaurants (a five minute walk). Our mid-May stay was perfect and we wished we could have stayed longer than two nights.

During a stay in May at the Villa Ducale in Taormina, Sicily we had problems with their staff. Upon not rewarding them with compliments to a 'show' suggested we attend, and a dinner afterwards, which we cancelled we were shown the true rudeness of the haughty Italian's at this particular establishment. It is truly a lovely place, but run by maniacs! If you go make sure to Love everything they arrange for you, and most importantly Do Not criticize anything they plan or book for you - or you will be ignored and if you're unlucky - you will be stalked by their owner/manager via email. I would NEVER recommend this place, soley on the mis-management of the place and the sheer rudeness to a paying customer.
