5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2013

We have just returned from a week's holiday in Taormina and had a first-rate experience staying at Villa Ducale. The location is outstanding with spectacular views of the sea and Mt Etna, which kept us captivated all week. Our room (30) was small but was beautifully decorated and had all the amenties we needed - plus, a terrace with one of the best views of the hotel. The staff were all, without exception, very friendly and helpful. No request was too much - they even arranged an early morning breakfast for us when we had to catch an all day bus tour. Which leads to one of the highlights of our stay .... the food is fabulous! The breakfast spread, both savory and sweet, is like no other .... freshly made with local produce and absolutely delicious. A true feast for both the eye and the taste buds. A terrific stay and would recommend it to anyone!

Room Tip: The hotel has rooms on both sides of the street ... would recommend a room with a view of Mt Etna an...

Dear Kim K,
we would like to thank you for such beautiful review about Villa Ducale, really nice to hear you had such a great time with us.
I am sorry that you found our distance as a slight negative point but I can assure you that this is one point of strenght; in fact the place is among nature, with one of the best views of Italy and so quiet. The town is at 15 minutes walk only and our shuttles are very frequent.Villa Ducale has only 17 rooms, it is a place for special people like you !
Thank you for staying with us, looking forward to your next visit.
Kind regards from Hotel Villa Ducale staff

The hotel and the staff are all first class and want to make your experience one that will have you planning a future visit. We arrived and had a few issues with our suite that were quickly fixed and from that point on it was a fantastic three days. A wonderful breakfast with a view of Mt Etna that is awesome. The special dinner we had pre-ordered in the morning was freshly cooked and the Sicilian wine a nice compliment to the evening.

Room Tip: Suites over dinning area have great view of Mt Etna..suites on other side of street have deck views...

Spent 4 nights at the Villa. Room 16 (the rooftop suite) has fantastic views & whilst Villa has only 17 rooms, this suite & I understand there are many nice rooms feels like your in your own home due to privacy & great facilities. Many people comment that its a little removed from the town centre, but we found that its location actually gives you more to do, being very close to the Castle , old Monastery & beautiful hilltop village above called Castelonia. Villa has a free transfer that operates regularly to and from town centre, but you can take a great walk down past the Monastery to town, easy blue bus up to the hilltop village etc. By doing this we really got to appreciate & understand the town & what it has to offer. Tip, dont spend 1 night make it 2 or 3 if you can.

Room Tip: For a view of Mt Etna and over the town you need the rooms in the Villa building itself, not the oth...

We decided to end our holiday in Sicily in Taormina. For spending our last day´s we choosed Hotel Villa Ducale - beacuse of Trip Advisor recommendation.
Oh, the place was/is super - bit far away from Taormina center on the hill. Starting from arrival until leaving - everithing was beyond super wonderful. Service is just so perfect, and the view on the restaurant terrass, and room! Absolutly perfect! I recommend it to anyone who enjoy´s quite and romantic place! Thank you very much Villa Ducale Family!!! Family from Estonia!!!

We spent Easter weekend at this lovely hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. Very nicely appointed rooms. Wonderful views of Taormina, the sea and Mount Etna. Would highly recommend it if you want a relaxing stay slightly removed from the hustle and bustle of Taormina. The hotel offers a shuttle service to the main part of town. While the walk down is relatively easy, you may want to take the shuttle back up the hill!

Can't recommend it highly enough! Superb views, great food, the kindest and most helpful staff..
It's a little out of the centre of Taormina, but that's a good thing - quiet and peaceful - and you can walk or take the shuttle bus into town.
Rooms are beautiful and comfortable, and have everything you'd want.
I'd come back here any day!

What a find ,if you don't mind the winding road up the hillside to this amazing hotel then this is the place for you .
My Wife and I on entering the foyer half way down a flight of steps were met by incredibly helpful and informative Alicia ,the panoramic view was breathtaking ,Etna in the foreground
Alicia was on hand to answer all our questions and more ,Paolo the manager was also mind of
information .direction ect.
The rooms are beautiful with full amenities, and are decorated with a perfect eye to the sicilian rustic colour and charm.
We have left the best till last .The food is quite special with every nationality catered for ,
In the evening you don't want to leave the restaurant and you cant wait for the next meal to arrive .
Every member of staff from front off house to house keepers are the best we have come across, we will be returning to this wonderful Hotel
