Inbetween the bus station, town center and the cable car it provides an ideal central location for many routes. Not so much a hotel but more of a guest acomodation with good charictor Very good value for money and the owners happy with our broken italian. Amazing views on the balcony helped with a nice bottle of wine. Cant really remember if it was clean or not but i'll take your word for it jo, i was to busy looking out the door and the view. No Airconditioning wasnt so much as a problem but more a fact of us aclimatising on our third day. Breakfast set in a terace garden with good coffee, a roll with ham, corosants and a friendly cat (not edible). Would go there again.

This was our third visit to Taormina & we wanted somewhere that is handy for the bus, has a bit of character and is not outrageously expensive.
I contacted the owner asking for a room with a terrace & seaview, and that's what we got upon arrival. Signor Sciglio had also sent me a link to the buses from Catania to Taormina which was most helpful. It was a bit of a struggle getting the luggage up the stairs to the top floor but the reward was a fantastic view towards Letoianni & beyond.
The room was large and quite oldfashioned. There was enough room to unpack (we stayed 6 nights). The bed was comfortable, and the bed linen was clean. The bathroom had a new shower unit with various spray patterns, a bidet & sink. Even though the water pressure was a bit low it was quite adequate. The towels were nice and fluffy. We were told that airconditioning would be installed in August. We kept the windows open at night and got cool air through the louvred shutters. I watched many sunrises in the morning from the terrace!
Breakfast was served in the beautiful garden. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. It is a family owned villa full of character.
We would be happy to stay there again.

  • Liked — Place full of character with fantastic views & friendly staff
  • Disliked — No lift for luggage; some street noise at night

I think that the Villa Nettuno in a way embodies the Sicilian way of life. Everything is a little over the top, a little dangerous, a lot of rococo, a lot of gold, a lot of dirt. Maybe the beds have been there for a long time? Maybe the Rubik's cube in the room has been there for a long time? Maybe the fact that the lighting is dim and the room's are incredibly dark at night is a good thing. I slept the best I've ever slept in the worst bed in the world. So, the stairs are a little bit slippery. Whatever. Amazing. Awesome. Laid back. Cheap! One night for the price of a cocktail in one of the five stars! Seriously! Stay here. Stay for a long time.

  • Liked — It is pink!
  • Disliked — If you cannot handle stairs I might suggest somewhere else.

After looking at the hotel's small reception area and checking a few rooms, we decided not to stay here. The hotel looked worn and in need of some refreshing.

We arrived in Taormina after catching the bus from Messina and having a poor experience in hotels there (over priced and rude). We had very heavy bags and so wanted to find a hotel not too far away. We came across the Villa Nettuno and were very glad we chose it. The villa itself is a beautiful sicilian family home with lovely gardens and views out to sea. The hosts were very accommodating and the room was big and spotlessly clean with a balcony with views out ot sea. The bathroom looked recently renovated and was also spotless. Th only downside to the room was that there was no air conditioning, only a fan which didn't really help that much.
The hotel is really convenient for excursions to etna from the bus station as well as being right opposite the cable car station to Isola Bella and a short walk away from the lovely shopping streets of Toarmina and the Theatro Greco.

I was with my boyfriend in first week of september.
When booking the room, the owner told me that they couldn't give us a double room but a twin room, as we were staying for just one night (!!!!). I was told that the price was 74 euros, but when I checked the price of our room in the price list in the hotel, actually our room was a single room where a fold up bed had been added, which we didn't like (I told the owner, but he didn't care... ). No receipt was given to us either.
Breakfast is give in a nice terrace, though.
Owners are OK.

Have just returned from a holiday in Taormina, spending six nights at Hotel Villa Nettuno. This is not the first time that we had stayed in the hotel, and we are repeat customers, as we have always been made to feel at home.

We found our room to be basic, but very clean, with a bathroom which looked completely refurbished, complete with shower, bidet and hair dryer. The views from the garden-view rooms are splendid, and as well as looking onto a lovely mature garden belonging to the same villa, one also got a side-view of the lovely beaches at Giardini Naxos.

Breakfast was adequate, and served in the beautiful garden belonging to the hotel - we were there in July 2006. The owners and staff were always very patient and helpful, and ever so polite, and it was a pleasure talking with them, particularly with Signora Sciglio.

The kids enjoyed the place as much as we did, and they long to go back again next year.

Great value for money!
