I was lucky to organise a meeting at the San Domenico last week. The hotel distinguishes itself for the great location, and at some point it seems you are walking in a museum because of the many masterpieces that are preserved in the rooms, meeting rooms, gardend and, above all, the two cloisters.
Bedrooms are comfortable, well clean. Bathrooms are a bit old-fashioned, but that contributes to create the ambiance. I was given a terrace room with a spectacula view on the ancient Greek theatre of Taormina. If that is your room try to wake up early one morning and enjoy the dawn with memorable colours that paint the little bay.
Breakfast is a never ending series of delicatessen. Try the various croissants with chocolate, pistache, cream or ricotta filling. We had dinner at the Principe Cerami restaurant where we had the "Menu degustation", very nice and up to the two stars.
I cannot help to underscore the politeness and responsiveness of the entire hotel staff which contributed to make the real difference during our staying. As we say in Italian "la classe non e' acqua".
