we stayed in Casa Turchetti for three nights in September 2012 and it was the most lovely, small hotel we ever stayed at. the bedrooms are beautiful with the finest bedlinen, the bathrooms boast Etro toiletries, breakfast is a Sicilian delight and the hosts are the most welcome and helpful couple you can imagine. the view from the terrace (the Greek Theatre, Mount Etna and the bay) is spectacular, the deckchairs are comfortable, beach towels are free, and if you want to spend a quiet afternoon reading or relaxing, you are treated to high tea, drinks and snacks and if you like a reservation in a restaurant of your choice. Casa Turchetti scores a ten out of ten as far as we are concerned!
parking is not easy, so leave your car at the Porta Catania parking garage and walk from there, or take a short taxi ride if you have a lot of luggage. the hotel is in the centre, but it is on a quiet street and you will find as much tranquillity here as you want, while the shops and restaurants are only a minute or so away.
we had a wonderful time. Henk and Margo
