“Nice little hotel with very personal and helpful staff, highly recommended”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2013

Both the staff and the owners family were very nice, personal and helpful. Having found out that I could not find a free table in the next door very popular fish restaurant "Red Moon" they phoned the restaurant and the table was miraculously found. They also helped me to rent a scooter. All such assistance ever more valuable as very few people speak English in Sicily. (French was also helpful in communicating with the hotel staff). Regarding the hotel and location I subscribe to numerous good reviews here.

A lovely little hotel in a nice building near the small fishing port which gives it a good atmosphere. We had views of the water and the old town from our room which was great. Our room was good - clean and well equipped. The girls who work at the hotel are really friendly and helpful. There is loads of free parking outside the hotel which isn't too hard to find if you have a half decent map. We walked everywhere, it took about 20 mins to walk to the archeological park, about 10 mins to Ortygia. We had dinner in the Red Moon fish restaurant which was awesome. Breakfast was perfectly good but nothing to write home about.

We stayed in the suite for 3 nights, and we enjoyd it. The room was spacius, with a little kitchen and a nice view to the harbour. Parking was free. We had very good breakfast and the room was cleaned every day and towels changed. The aircon was perfect and the staff friedly and most helpfull.

Staff were very friendly, lovely clean rooms, location is good, nice and quiet and nice short walk on to the island for the nightlife. Would happily go back. Parking was fine.

Small and charming B&B, clean an pretty well located. It's by the sea, but not in the famous historic center (you can walk there in 15 minutes) You can easily park your car around at no cost. Breakfast room is small, so you might wait for a table.

This traditional pink stucco house with lofty ceilings stone incorporated into the walls, tiled floors, spotlessly clean with simple furnishings is the perfect home from home. We had a small ground floor double room and small shower room, plus a small alcove with table and chairs, with a terrace overlooking the small harbour where the fishermen hang out; we could come and go as we pleased and it felt like our own house. The friendly helpful hosts were especially helpful communicating when our bag was missing and then stuck at Catania airport. They speak some English and they give a big Sicilian welcome. It is well placed for an easy walk to the classical sites in the north and the historic island of Ortygia further round the bay. Food is served close by: traditional Sicilian seafood dishes, and a bar serving ice cream to die for. There is a small helpful library; lots of choice for the usual continental breakfast, including local specialities such as Sicilian ricotta. Beautiful and ugly reside side by side, but our experience of Lakkios and Syracuse was magical.

Room Tip: Our room was very quiet at the beginning of March, and we needed the heater at times which was fine.

We stayed here a few nights while in Siracusa. It was the perfect location to see all the sights and yet a good price. Right on the marina and a short walk over to Ortigia Island. We had free parking right near our room. Staff was very nice and helpful. Breakfast on site and adequate.
