“Disappointing. Go to Ortygia and enjoy it.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2013 via mobile

Expensive ticket but the museum is worth the price. The "Zona Archaeologica" isn't that great. Hordes of obnoxious young folks obsessed with that Facebook photo, singing and loud were bad but why do they need to cover up the theatre with plywood seating for the summer performances? The European obsession of just opposing the new in an historical setting is disturbing. Art for art's sake? Anyhow not what I thought it would be but ticket improved with a visit to the museum. Then onto Ortygia which made the whole trip to Syracuse worthwhile.
Ps. I'm sick of the iPad as camera. You could serve me a drink of that darn thing but enough of this!!!

“Don't miss this”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2013

Probably the most important site to see in Siracusa.
Be sure to read about it before hand as there is not a map or a brochure at the ticket office.
Free entry for those over 65!

“Interesting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2013

Altogether worth a visit. very interesting as , given that there is both a Greek and Roman theatre here you can compare and contrast in terms of differences. Worth getting up early to avid the coach parties.

“Best site-seeing area of Siracusa”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013

A walk around this park with its many celebrated sites - Greek Theatre, Ear od Dionysius, Roman amphitheatre and splendid views from the top of the hill - should be a must for every tourist.

“Very average for the price of entry”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

It was hardly worth the €10 per person when there are really only 5 attractions within the park,a good part of which appears to be overgrown and closed as far as the paths are concerned. It was also disappointing to have workmen constructing staging and seating at the Greek Theatre presumably for summer performances. It took away from the historical sense of the site.
The site doesn't cater for English speaking tourists with no guide map to carry and no signage withing the park in English.
There seemed to be a number of staff sitting around with little or nothing to do so perhaps that why was the price was what is was.
There are better free attractions in the city.
