Amazing 35 euro 6 dish all seafood menu, including wine, water, grappa and coffee. All first class. Top quality and too much of it.

“Seafood heaven”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2013

Very central on Ortigia. As usual, I hit tripadvisor, and thanks to my fellow reviewers, we found this place. Oh what a delight.
The restaurant is on a little side street of the main road on the island. The restaurant is beautiful inside, a really great atmosphere. The host/staff were very friendly and hospitable. They came over, and quickly explanined that the restaurant has no menu, they just cook, and you get the pleasure of eating. What a pleasure it was.
The seafood, just keep coming. It began with fresh oysters, prawns and sardines. Then white bait and sea urchin fritters, sardines stuffed with raisins and almonds. Then a huge bowl of mussles in wine and lemon. Then the seafood spaghetti. Then we had sea bass. All topped of dessert of - ladies creme carmel, and for me the sweet ricotta.
It really was an absolute delight, and the food was outstanding. Left the restaurant a very happy chappy. And at only 35 euros a head, extremely good value. If you liek seafood, and enjoy the experience of trying lots of new foods, then you will love this pace

“Briallant food, Great host, Lovely evening”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2013

We went here with the recommendation of a local we were staying with and it was the best choice of our whole 2 weeks in Sicily!

We asked the morning before if we could book a table which they were happy to do (good thing as it was full on the night with lots of groups turned away) and informed us there and then that there was no menu and the meals are based on the market and the catch of the day. As a note, we sam the market and the fresh fish and fruit and veg looked amazing, just wish we had it in the UK!)

On the night we turned up and had a choice of all but 1 table. The food just kept coming through the night, I recommend that you dont eat much during the day and get comfortable for a lovely night!

They ask you which wine you would like (part of the deal). First dish was White bait with sea urchin, Oysters and another deep fried fish with smokey veg. Followed by very large prawns with a sort of smokey peanut sauce, then mussels, then seafood linguine, then a whole fish each, then a choice of puddings and coffee. In all, it was about 3 hours long, and I wouldnt want it any shorter as the portion sizes are not Al Carte! There service was brilliant and gave a good gap between dishes so that you could savour (and have a moment to digest) and the chef really knows how to cook his fish, everything was perfectly cooked and so dealicous.

This is a must if you go, Ive been to quite a few restaurants around Sicily, and this was by far the best!

“Fabulous fish/sea-food restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2013

This little osteria is well worth it if you like your fish and sea-food. There is no menu as such, and it's a fixed price (€35), which may seem odd and a bit pricy; but it is well worth it!
The chef created a menu depending on the catch of the day, and on what fish or sea-food is in season, so it's all perfectly fresh and seasonal.
As for the price, it may seem expensive, but you get a lot for your money: the meal included a bottle of wine and a bottle of water, delicious marinated fish and sea-food (including giant oysters), sumptous fishcakes and Sicilian sardines, mussels, gambas cooked in a marsala sauce, seafood pasta (with lots of seafood), a delicious fish course and a lemon sorbet (there were other options for dessert, but we opted for the light version) and a delicious cinnamon digestif.
The place is also very simple and elegant, though it looks quite unassuming from outside.
Give it a go, you won't be disappointed, and it's definitely worth placing your trust and €35 in the chef's capable hands!
