“The Exquisite Food Will Beg YOur Return!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2012

When a restaurant is bold enough to advertise itself as a 'Spaghetteria' and says that pasta is it's specialty, then you expect the absolute best and Sicilia In Tavola delivers!

I grew up on pasta and have eaten it at places all over the U.S.A. and Italy that covered the range of being unknown to highly touted. I've also been around for a very long time and Sicilia In Tavola served me a pasta that will join the few that come to mind when the subject of pasta comes in any future conversation! It was truly superb and among the few best I've ever eaten.

The restaurant owners make all of their artisan pastas at an offsite location exclusively for their restaurant. It is cooked to an 'al dente' perfection as opposed to being 'overcooked,' which most restaurants, especially those outside of Italy, tend to cook it. I had pasta with clams, shrimp, bottarga, cherry tomatoes and pistachio with a sauce so addictive that I soaked up every drop that remained on my plate with a piece of bread. My wife had pasta with mullet, cherry tomatoes in a sauce that was on the same satisfaction level as mine.

The people, the charm of this place, and above all the quality and flavor of the food has us returning to Sicilia In Tavola as many times as our time and schedule in Ortigia will permit.

“Fabulous Food at Reasonable Prices”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 13, 2012

We read the reviews about Sicilia in Tavola on TripAdvisor and looked forward to eating there. We were not disappointed. The reviews raved especially about the pasta dishes and the reasonable prices. I made reservations for 7:30. We were lucky to get a great table, because the restaurant filled up almost immediately.

My wife and I split an antipasto of smoked salmon drizzled with olive oil. I had a spaghetti ragusano – spaghetti in a tomato sauce with caciocavallo cheese on it, and my wife had fish ravioli in a tomato sauce. We shared a simple plate of sliced tomatoes and we split a bottle of Petra Lava, a fantastic Catarratto-Caricante blend from the Etna region – a DOC wine. Our dinner totaled only 44,00€.

Obviously a very popular spot with the locals, the restaurant was quite busy and crowded, even just after 7:30 in the evening, but the food was fabulous, the prices were certainly reasonable, and the service was friendly and helpful.

“We loved it so much we went twice in 2 days”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 10, 2012

On every vacation there's usually one restaurant that we love so much that we can't resist repeating it, and during our trip to Sicily this summer it was Sicilia in Tavola. The service was excellent, the decor was quaint, the price was inexpensive and the food was amazing. We HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend it.

If only they'd open up a branch in Taoramina, since the restaurants we tried there were touristy, over-priced, and serve mediocre food.

“Seafood pasta with flair”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2012

This is a great little restaurant with a deserved reputation amongst both locals and travellers for fresh seafood pastas. The ravioli with pistachio sauce was also great, as was their take on cannoli in a desert glass, which they prepared for all to see at the front of the restaurant. What really made the meal memorable, though, was talking with the young staff, who were passionate about Sicilian food and ingredients, and shared with us several new vintage olive oils, as well as a couple of their most popular recipes. This was one of the food highlights of our time in Sicily (and given the overall quality of the food on the island, that's saying something).

“Really enjoyed the meal here”

We went to this place based on the Tripadvisor reviews and weren't disappointed. Excellent fresh seafood in this little place, the warm seafood salad in particular was great.
