When a restaurant is bold enough to advertise itself as a 'Spaghetteria' and says that pasta is it's specialty, then you expect the absolute best and Sicilia In Tavola delivers!
I grew up on pasta and have eaten it at places all over the U.S.A. and Italy that covered the range of being unknown to highly touted. I've also been around for a very long time and Sicilia In Tavola served me a pasta that will join the few that come to mind when the subject of pasta comes in any future conversation! It was truly superb and among the few best I've ever eaten.
The restaurant owners make all of their artisan pastas at an offsite location exclusively for their restaurant. It is cooked to an 'al dente' perfection as opposed to being 'overcooked,' which most restaurants, especially those outside of Italy, tend to cook it. I had pasta with clams, shrimp, bottarga, cherry tomatoes and pistachio with a sauce so addictive that I soaked up every drop that remained on my plate with a piece of bread. My wife had pasta with mullet, cherry tomatoes in a sauce that was on the same satisfaction level as mine.
The people, the charm of this place, and above all the quality and flavor of the food has us returning to Sicilia In Tavola as many times as our time and schedule in Ortigia will permit.
