“Your Home in Syracuse, Sicily”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2014

This is a lovely, small, bed and breakfast in the heart of the ancient city Ortigia. The owners are warm, friendly and helpful. I understand that each room is different in this recently remodeled Hotel. The original building dates back to the 1700's, but has been updated with a cool, Italian, modern flair on the interior. Breakfast is very good and staff is very helpful. We stayed in a room with a loft that felt like our own apartment. It had two baths, kitchen, and living area, and loft bedroom. The rates were extrememly reasonable. In addition the owners provided us with information for a wonderful driver, a personal friend of theirs, should you wish to make excursions. We traveled to Noto and Tarorimina with Sebastiano Tarascio and his wife Charlotte. I highly recommend their services should you need a driver, and I hope they will be lifelong friends and visit us in California! Sebastiano's phone number is available at the hotel. Va benne.

Very nice butik hotel at the old town. We got a very large and well designed room, with gallery for the bed and bathroom. The breakfast was great - good variety of food including great cheese from the area. The staff was very kind and recommended us on attractions and restaurants nearby.
It's quite hard to find the place with GPS and there is not a lot parking space nearby. We parked near the water, which was possible during off-season (we went there at March), but on the season it would be probably hard.

Room Tip: Ask the staff for recommendations of local restaurants.

As other reviewers have said, this is a simply wonderful place to stay. Large suites, with masses of space. Good WiFi and even a TV with hundreds of satellite channels (including foreign football). Breakfasts superb, as everyone has said - they bake all their own cakes. Staff all very, very friendly and helpful. Perfect location. And, not expensive at all - brilliant value.

It's just a really nice and luxurious place without the price tag. Stephania and Roberta were both so lovely. I think, Johnny, the man that made an appearance during breakfast was lovely too. The room was spacious, Stephania graciously offered to do our washing with compliments from the b&b. We tipped of course. She also made a reservation for me. Roberta speaks more English than the rest I believe, but everyone tries to help you out. Ah and the breakfast, it's worth staying here just for that! It is ridiculously good. I never thought cold breakfasts could be this satisfying and delicious. The warm tricotta is made to order. I would not hesitate to recommend this place and if ortigia was closer to home. I'd be back in a flash

Our first time in Sicily and this hotel (OK it's called a B&B but really needs another category to do it justice) was the perfect introduction: spacious rooms, comfy beds, a patio AND a roof terrace from which you can see the snow-capped Etna. This was early March, mind, so by next morning clouds spoiled the view in that direction; but to the south and east the blue sea still reminded us we were on holiday. Staff friendly and helpful, as others have said. Their recommended restaurant for dinner was excellent. We were booked for just the one night and had no flexibility in a 3-day schedule;but it's nice to know that you can return to a place when you have to leave it too soon. The B&B/hotel should refer to its location as Ortigia, the (only just) island two short bridges from the rest of Siracusa. Like all places worth visiting this one is worth getting lost in and even has a tiny marionette puppet theatre for serious disorientation.

Room Tip: We were lucky to get the top room but I'm sure the others are good too.

B and B La Via della Giudecca is a lovely hotel in a very beautiful city. The service at the hotel is wonderful. One of the young women there took the time to help us buy opera tickets online for our stay in Palermo. The staff cannot do enough to please you. The room was a lovely two floor apartment. We seemed to have a little problem with hot water running low, but I did not tell them about this till we checked out, and they seemed that they would have tended to it immediately had they known. The breakfast is superb-especially the cheeses. From the hotel, you can walk anywhere in Siracusa. We always felt safe there. Siracusa is beautiful, but during the week in February it was dead and several sights were closed. I'm sure it comes alive in the spring. If you go to Siracusa-stay at this B and B-you can't go wrong.

We stayed 2 nights (Feb14), in this modern yet elegant B&B. we had the room on the 3rd floor which has access to its own roof terrace! Well worth the views! The owners/staff were so accommodating, breakfast is a 'not-to-be-missed' event. The local bio produce on show was delicious. A perfect place to discover the old part of Syracuse, Ortigia. Thank you!
