“nice place: lovely courtyard”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2012

Food is good but rather expensive. Great wineselection. Courtyard has a great ambiance (lots of locals). You may not be in a rush. Knowledge of foreign languages by the waiters is rather limited. Setting made it a perfect evening.

“Stylish with good food and wine”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2012

We had a very nice meal; really friendly staff who explained food and suggested wines very well. the wine was particularly good.
Modern and stylish atmosphere, but didn't make us as older clientele feel out of place!

“Nul.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2011

nice ambiance but definitely not worth it. It's like the "costes" of Palermo, with bad service, disappointing and overpriced food. one of my traveling companions ordered with the "pastas con vongole" and it was inedible- watery, tasteless. this is after she had tried the same dish in several, must less expensive and pretentious restaurants and loved it. i strongly advise against Acanto, unless you just want to see and be seen and don't care about food.

“Very cool, also quite tasty”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2011

This was also near our hotel in Palermo - the area seems very run down, but there are amazing restaurants almost hidden in the brickwork. We met another traveller who said Palermo was one of his favourite destinations because it wasn't perfect. But "Ristorante Acanto Blu Di Feo Elvira Anna Elena" comes pretty close. It was a little difficult to find Acanto Blu, because the name is more than that on the sign.

The evening was dry and warm, so we decided to dine outside. This was one of the few places that ate at late enough for the locals, so we even had a little wait for a table. I would have loved a drink, but the scenery took my mind of it quickly. The waitresses were lovely, not much english spoken, but very friendly and very helpful with the menu. The food was very nice, but we only had a starter and pasta plate.

They had mellow outside music and it would have been quite nice to hang around a little longer for a few drinks.
