“Simply Excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2012

We arrived at A’ Cuncuma without reservations, and although it was quite small, we were seated right away. What followed was the most memorable dinner of the trip, with superb food and wonderful wine. The standout dish was red snapper stuffed with small shrimp with a wonderful light sauce that was simply remarkable. We had a couple of very good wines with dinner, then, having engaged both the waiter and later the chef (at this point we were the last people in the restaurant) we had an impromptu tasting of a range of Sicilian desert wines along with wonderful deserts. It was absolutely splendid. The olive oil was for bread dipping was superb and we regretted not buying any to bring home.

“Best Meal in Palermo”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2012

Everything was amazing here --the home made tomato pasta and the beef are a must! I would come back to Palermo just to eat here again.

“Hidden gem worth a visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2012 via mobile

We went to A'Cuncuma on a Sunday night. It was very calm when we started our meal but the restaurant filled up nicely as the night went on. Before ordering, we were offered a complimentary signature dish from the chef, a nice gesture most often reserved for Michelin star restaurants. We shared starter and dessert and everything was cooked to perfection. The service was attentive and run by the family which added to the nice touch. The bill came to 90 euros including wine and it was worth every penny for the quality of food and experience. It certainly set the bar high for our Sicilian experience!

“Bellissimo!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2012

We LOVED A'Cuncuma. As others have said, more eloquently, this is place is outstanding. No reason to skip the set menu at 32 euros. I don't know how you would find more excellent choices if you went a la carte. What a deal. My husband was in awe at EVERY course. I really appreciated the prosecco they poured - gratis - to start; the main fish course was unbelievably TERRIFIC; the panna cotta with the crunchy, crispy pistachios and beautiful red sauce was the stuff of dreams. I'm not much for wine, but my husband asked the waiter to pick a glass. Wow, the combination of that wine with that fish course was enough to make me think that maybe those snotty conversations I've endured from amateur enologists might have some validity. It is a very small - exquisite - restaurant, so make reservations early.

“Bad experience”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2012

Restaurant service which is terribly slow. Although we arrived at 20:30 many dishes from the menu were not available, includes a bottle of 1/2 litter "house wine".
We waited for first dishes- pasta and risotto - one hour and an one hour longer for main dishes.
It was gross and relatively expensive.
We will not return again
