“A brief but enjoyable stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

My wife and I stayed here for one night before moving on and found the hotel to be great. Located 5minutes from the beach and although on a main road very quiet - the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and the room itself was a lovely size with great AC.

Couple of small moans in that I had thought I'd read that all bathrooms were modern but it was a little dated, powerful shower but tiny cubicle or some reason, bed was also incredibly firm and no wifi working but if you can see past these things it offers fantastic value for money and a lovely welcome to the island!

Overall top tip for the island without a doubt is pre-book taxis online as they are outrageously expensive otherwise!

Me, my wife and our children (7 and 4 years old) stayed 3 nights at this Hotel, during a trip in Sicily. We choose it because of the location: next to the best beach in town and close to the city.
It is a beautiful building, made during the beginning of the 20th century and still save its style and beauty. From my window at the last floor (4th) every morning I saw the Monte Pellegrino on my right and the sea on my left. Air conditioning and Wifi free connection helped me to win the jet lag. The team is very customer oriented and the atmosphere joyful and relaxed. The breakfast is various: you can choose among the European standard or typical Sicilian cookies and spread creams. Three minutes walking and you are on the beach of Mondello; 10 seconds walking and you are at the bus stop to go to the city. The restaurant and pizzeria allowed me to choose different kind of food and different prices; while we were eating, a professional baby sitter took care of my children. I hope to come back.

Room Tip: Choose room ending with 06, such as 106, 206, 306 or 406: the view is amazing

Our room, in a non-smoking EU hotel, reeked of cigarette smoke; they said people don't smoke in there but there was an ashtray! Could not relocate so spent night with windows open to the mainstreet and pedestrian crossing beep all night. Meal was reasonable in the evening, but they don't do tea for breakfast - only coffee. Very difficult to move luggage up and down a narrow stair way. The service staff were extremely friendly.

we stayed 1 night at this hotel and found the service average. The drawbacks were:
- no parking so you need to park in the street
- the Wifi was not working, we asked at the reception but the receptionist couldnt care less
- breakfast was not vey nice, just cakes not really a standard european breakfast
- old style rooms, just the bathroom has been enovated
- the old elevator is making lots of noise especially if your room is next to it

We will not go back to this hotel

Room Tip: as far from the elevator as possible

We had a lovely time at Villa Esperia, a traditional hotel in Liberty style in Mondello (PA). Rooms are spacious and very comfortable, with high ceilings, bathrooms have been recently renovated. Villa Esperia offers a great example of traditional Italian hospitality.
Worth trying the restaurant Casamia.
Staff is friendly and helpful.
Great value for money.
The beach is 5 minutes walk away.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room with a view on the garden. The road is quite busy and noisy

Located outside the main area of Mondello, this hotel is quiet and fairly close to the beach. We were given a large room on the third floor with a very good bathroom. The bedroom was a bit dowdy and very little imagination would make this hotel a lot more attractive. However, it is clean and comfortable and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Because it is quite a walk from other restaurants we ate in the hotel restaurant every evening. There is not much atmosphere in the dining room but the food and wine are good value. There is a bus-stop right outside for visiting Palermo and tickets can be bought at reception. The main town of Mondello struck us as a bit run-down and slightly 'seedy' but the beach is lovely. We would definitely recommend this hotel as a pleasant place to stay outside the city of Palermo.
