A stonethrow from the Quatro Canti this more than 450 year old fountain, built in Florence, has mythological animals and nude figures was placed by the City of Palermo right next to a convent of nuns. Now in the 21st century it is protected from undisciplened people.
In yet another graffiti ruined part of Palermo, this fountain I'd seen so many photos of was a bit of a disappointment. It's locked up behind an ugly fence and so the view you get from the base is different from all the glamorous shots taken from above. It's probably locked so the locals can't graffiti or litter as they obviously do everywhere else in this city
The naked ladies shield their modesty behind a rather ugly steel railing. The men let it all hang out
Nice ornate fountain situated close to Quattro Canti and beside Chiesa di S.Chiara.
Definitely a pretty fountain with unusual figures. Considered a shameful fountain when placed in 1575 because it is full of mythological and naked figures and yet placed right in the vicinity of the church. Worth seeing if you are within the vicinity
