“Indulgence”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2013

Grand Hotel Piazza Borsa is well located in central Palermo. It takes 10 minutes walk to the central bus station. An impressive beautiful lobby where you can have wifi connected. I had a triple room - huge one, clean and well decorated. The balcony allows you to see the locals living right opposite to the hotel. It takes 20 minutes walk to the Palermo Cathedral and attractions nearby. They provide a variety of bread, cheese and ham for breakfast in a beautiful dining room. The only thing I would complain is they do not have wifi connection in rooms. I did not expect that for a 4 stars hotel. Overall a great stay - a real indulgence.

Room Tip: They charge 34euros for an extra person which is worthy to pay. The triple room is very large with a...

This is a good 4 star hotel. It's well-located in the old town for sight-seeing. The huge atrium on the ground floor where the bar is located is particularly impressive. Our room was a good size and very tastefully decorated. It was quiet at night, had a black-out shade and made sleeping easy. The wifi is free and worked well in the room, although sometimes the strength was a little down. Breakfast was from 7.30 to 10.30am and there was a good range on the buffet - our only complaint is that they cheapest out on the orange juice, which was like (slightly) coloured water. We paid 18€ per day for valet parking, which was convenient, but street parking can be had much more cheaply nearby if you're up for a little extra effort. The staff helpfully made restaurant bookings for us. We also stayed at the nearby Hotel Palazzo Sitano on this trip, but slightly preferred the Borsa.

Cost us a thoroughly reasonable £84 to stay here and it was worth every penny. Our room was spacious and really well decorated. It had a balcony overlooking a piazza and church outside and was well fitted through out. The breakfast is pretty good too. All round, a fantastic experience.

In an austere building close to nearly everywhere in Palermo, this is a great hotel with a sumptuous lobby, large and elegantly decorated rooms, great service and all that for a more than reasonable price. We spent two nights here and was a very safe place to recover after walking in the beautiful but baldy kept city. Would definitely go back.

Good location in a square with easy car access even if you don't find a space in the square. The hotel is grand set round a large covered courtyard. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and very well appointed. Better than expected.

Elegant modern hotel in a restored classical building in the centre of town. The rooms are bright, clean and beautifully furnished. The beds are very comfortable and the whole atmosphere refined and elegant, and very quiet despite the central location. Breakfast was a large spread of delicious Sicilian goodies as well as the usual international staples. Staff were helpful and polite. It is very easy to get to the major attractions of Palermo from this hotel.

.. in a bustling chaotic city which must be experienced. Central location much to see within walking distance. We had a large well equipped room with a balcony to sit out on, over looking the roof terrace and with roof top views which were impressive. Room was quiet although some of our companions found traffic noise a problem. Restaurant and Bar staff were attentive , spoke good english and in particular late evening green tea and coffee was produced together with small pastries. I would certainly recommend and plan to return

Room Tip: Ask for a quieter room although hotel is set back from the main street
