We stayed at Abali for only one evening, but were very impressed with the owner. While trying to find the place we got into a small accident and the owner of the car wouldn't take responsibility and was creating a lot of trouble for us. Vito spent several hours interpreting for us and helping us to work through the problem. He also generously upgraded my parents to his very creative suite for the evening. We were very grateful to have such a caring person take the time to make our experience an enjoyable one.
The design of the place is unusual and a lot of fun. Different rooms have very different designs, and I enjoyed the whimsical and creative approach taken. If you are looking for a standard guesthouse experience, this probably isn't the place for you. But if you'd like to enjoy yourself in a vibrant, fun-loving environment this is a great place.
Parking can be difficult to find and it is a good idea to have the phone number and a map with you as you arrive because Abali is a little difficult to find if you arrive with a car. The location is excellent though, just off of the main street and between the opera house and the palace complex.
