“Very central hotel with parking”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2014

We arrived at the hotel having booked it for the wrong month. The very elegant receptionist didn't make a drama out of our unannounced arrival and gave us a reasonable rate - this was much appreciated, given I probably had already forfeited my deposit (100%) for not cancelling the previous months booking. Parking is a bit of a challenge, but giving your car key to the reception means they can move cars about to maximise the limited parking area.

Our room was large and modern, the bathroom was lovely and it had a great shower. The bed was large and comfy. We had free wifi, although I thought it was chargeable - maybe they took pity on me for my costly booking drama.

Garibaldi square is at the very centre of Palermo, driving there from the airport takes courage as the driving in the city is manic. All the big named shops are 5 minutes from the hotel and there is a huge choice of restaurants nearby. Both days we stayed there were events taking place around the square including a classic car/motorbike rally and a military band.

Overall we were very satisfied with the hotel and are happy to recommend it to others.

Had a long weekend in this hotel. Nice location, large decent rooms and friendly helpful staff.
Its a breakfast only hotel, food a bit week, but almost faces on the main square, well recomended for a base to explore the city and island.

Room Tip: Facing on to the main road is more interesting if a little more noisy

The location was excellent, and Giuseppe, who was on duty at Reception most of the time during our 2-day visit, was very helpful and friendly, providing us with lots of information and advice. It can be hard to find a hotel that provides parking in Palermo, and the Garibaldi has an adjoining parking space. Check if parking is included in the price of your stay. The room was lovely, spacious, and pleasant with a very comfortable bed and fine en suite bathroom. The breakfast room is lovely and breakfasts were excellent with nearly every availalble choice of food laid on, and as Irish people who prefer tea in the mornings, it was especially appreciated that tea and teapots were provided. There is a lovely cosy lounge available to guests, with TV and newspapers provided, very colourful and inviting. Wifi in the room was appreciated - there is an extra charge for it. We would be very happy to go back there again!

We had a wonderful stay at the Garibaldi and would recommend the accommodation for anyone visiting Palermo. It is extremely conveniently located. If you take the bus from Palermo Airport into town, it stops almost directly in front of the building (a few doors to the left as you exit). Right in front of the hotel is the first stop of the Hop-On Hop-Off bus which will take you either into downtown or to the western part of town, whichever tour you wish. It is a ten minute ride by taxi to the train station. Even though it was January, we experienced fine weather and walked to almost all the attractions. The room itself was large by European standards--clean as well as comfortable. The bathroom was VERY large, and modern. Breakfast was strong on starch and could use so more fruit, but it was certainly good enough to begin the day. This is a good place to begin your exploration of Palermo.

Room Tip: The rooms that face the street are likely to be noisy in the spring and summer when the windows are...

W've stayed at the Garibaldi hotel for 3 nights in the end of November 2013,
and had a great time. Since we were with a car (BMW) it was so good to know that we
can park it at the hotel's parking area behind the building - and most important: free of charge!
The staff was very helpful and kind, especially Lorenzo and Jiuseppe, who did their best
to make us happy. (Ex: Free Wifi, free late check out etc.)
The room was large and convenient, very clean. Nice bathroom with both bathtub and shower, which was great, since I like the shower, whereas my friend likes the bathtub (:
Very nice breakfast in a lively breakfast room. Great coffee and good food. The only
thing that was missing (in my eyes of course) is some vegetables: tomatoes, cucumbers etc.
I loved the Garibaldi Hotel in Palermo, and would definitely like to come again ((:

Room Tip: All rooms are great, and those on the back are quiet.
