We were looking for somewhere to pass time while on our way back to Palermo airport for a late flight. Mondello was a suggestion from the guide book.
The satnav took us through the middle of Palermo; not to be recommended; take the autostrada round Palermo next time.
Mondello is the seaside part of Palermo. We found a number of restaurants along the waterfront looking at the harbour. This one is in the shelter of a round tower and is the smartest looking.
We went in to look at the fish and were recommended lobster, in tomato or cream sauce. We asked what was the best and were told cream.
It was called fettucine con astice on the menu and was quite delicious. We got half a lobster each sizzling hot and smothered in a cream and lobster sauce and fettucine.
With one dessert and coffees the bill was 55 euros.
We ate outside looking at the harbour and the view of the bay and the service was friendly and professional.
