“Stupendo!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 22, 2012

We went there with a large group from Bruges. Everything was outstanding, the staff, the meal, the service, the wine, .... Very good service even with our group of 45 people.
We'll surely go back there!

“Traditional Sicilian fare”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2012

The trattoria is just off the Mercato delle Pulci, a sort of flea market/antiques area which is well worth a wander. The restaurant is good standard Sicilian fare, not remarkable in any way, but well prepared and nicely presented. The staff are at pains to explain what you are eating.....and to emphasise that everything here is homemade.

“A Surprise Awaits!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2012

We stepped into this unassuming trattoria, only to be taken out the back to a very respectable family restaurant. The staff were excellent and the food was even better! We started with fried filleted sardines, which we shared, as we were also given a plate, compliments of the chef, of fried anchovy balls, which were delectable. My husband then had Spaghetti Triglie, gamberi e finocchetto - pasta with red mullet, shrimp, wild fennel and almonds! He said this was amazing. I had Involtini di Ortaggi Alla Sicilana - a roulade of eggplant, zucchini, and peppers, then it said with bread and cheese, which actually was tomatoes, sliced in half and grilled with breadcrumbs and cheese on top! It was lovely! The wine list was excellent, but we stayed with one of the local reds.
There were a couple of families there with young children, obviously locals, and the children were so well behaved.
What a surprise - I would recommend this trattoria any day!

“Excellent authentic Sicilian restaurant.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2012

We were the beneficiaries of a local's recommendation. The restaurant has a number of very pleasant rooms which gives it an intimacy and the efficient staff are very friendly. After discussion the owner suggested he could give us a mixture of the 4 antipasti to share and we really enjoyed the generous array given to us. We then ordered a shared pasta con sarde and each were given a generous serve of spaghetti with chunks of sardine. Delicious! Our mains were swordfish which came with spinach and crumbed Mahi Mahi, both excellent and again showing the superb seafood dishes in Sicily. Our wines were a half bottle of sparkling white and bottle of shiraz. Total bill was a ridiculous 59 euros. This restaurant is closed on Monday and Tuesday evening, but open for all other lunches and dinners. It's very popular with locals so you need to book, especially for Friday.

“Enjoyable Pranza”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2012

We visited this restaurant for lunch. The wait staff was attentive and the meal was very good. My wife enjoyed the involtini, and the pasta with seafood was excellent.
