“Great price/value relationship”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2013

We dined here our first night in Palermo. We had no reservation when we arrived at 8:00 PM. We were given a nice table in the corner. By 9:00 they were full and had people waiting on the street for a table.

On this Thursday evening, it seemed to be an equal mix of travelers and local regulars.

We were not looking for a full blown 5 course meal. We wanted to eat, then walk, then go to bed. They had no problem with us sharing an antipasti, ordering two primi (a pasta and a risotto), and sharing a secondi (selected from the fresh seafood display).

Good, efficient service in a pleasant old room. Diverse wine list with a nice selection of reasonably priced local wines.

One of the best meals we have ever had? No. We have been fortunate enough to have had some pretty exceptional meals, but it was very good and ranks very high on our list of memorable meals.

“Mechanical”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2013

While the food here is very good, the atmosphere is very stilted and the place lacks a soul. Eating there is a process not an experience. A multitude of waiters does not make for good service, rather a feeling that they want you to get on with it and then get out. Go to Cucina Papoff instead.

“A very good and traditional restaurant in front of Politeama”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2013

This is a place where wealthy Palermitans go. Everything is fresh including the fish, service very professional, and cosy atmosphere. Do not expect innovation nor new cuisine, you go there for the tradition.

“Outstanding Fresh Fish & Great Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2013

This intimate restaurant, at first looks like a straightforward Sicilian Trattoria, but the standard of service is definitely closer to that of a high-class restaurant - very professional. The Maitre D' was able to explain the menu clearly in several languages and brought a platter of stunningly fresh fish for us to choose from. We can recommend the seafood pasta, the sole and swordfish a bottle of Nozze D'Oro (white) wine. Highly recommend would definitely return.

“Good food, but too expensive”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2012

We share a similare view to a few others, as the food was good and it's was fresh. The service was spot on and they met every need, albeit we were far from demanding. This was a Christmas lunch for four of us traveling together and it was $660 euro, wich is what I would expect to pay in a Michelin star restaurant.

We Asked to have the meals to be spread out allowing us to have a wine and enjoy the day without being rushed and they were more than accomadating, as we were first in and last to leave, 12.30 -4.30, a long lunch. I'm sure if they're were turning people away at the door it may have been different.
