“Fantastic Seafood”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2012

In the heart of Palermo which is probably not as threatening as it once might have been this Restaurant is a beacon in an area that to be described as "dinghy" is probably complementary. Sant Andrea is warm, welcoming and the staff very efficient and helpful.

The cuisine is mainly from the sea however, it is not presented as one might expect a traditional seafood restaurant to present. Included on the menu are some Japanese and oriental influences and - there is no of "Fish 'n Chips" dish available if that's what you're looking for!

We chose different Entrees (Primo Piatti) and Main courses (Secondo Piatti); each plate was exceptionally well presented and satisfying to the palate. Our main problem was that there was too much to eat and still feel comfortable afterwards.

“Great Food, Service Needs Polishing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2012

Have just retuned from four nights in Palermo. The food at this restaurant and the wine choice were both excellent. However, we had to remind the waitress three times that we had not been given the water we had asked for. The same waitress forgot to order the taxi we asked for. This took the edge off our enjoyment of this otherwise very nice restaurant.

“Probably the best we ate at in palermo”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2012 via mobile

The food was very very good. Atmosphere perfect, great medium lighting with nice music, ambience and warm colour. Portions were generous, starters were immpeccable: i had traditional antipasti plater, amazing. Pasta was very good, not elaborate but good strong interesting flavours. Like everyone says swordfish rolls amazing: i had meatballs which were equally wonderful. My only fault is it took about 30 minutes to get our desert which was average. It is pricey but worth it. One of the best in palermo

“Great place for dinner”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 22, 2012 via mobile

We loved this restaurant. We started with the house white, which was very nice. Then shared a mixed antipasto, which we both enjoyed. For pasta course I had the anchovies and pasta with a tomato sauce. It was fantastic. For the naincohese I had the sardines, very lightly fried. Quite fresh and tasty. My wife had the calamari, which she also loved. Wine list not huge but features nice selection of Siciluan wines. We had the Santo Agostino, which we both enjoyed. Decor is simple but stylish. Customers are a mix of locals and tourists. Make a reservation to ensure a table. And avoid the upstairs balcony, as the main room downstairs is more fun.

“A hidden gem - but needs a bit more polishing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2012 via mobile

The approach to the restaurant is very unprepossessing, but inside it has a nice atmosphere and the staff were welcoming. The food was good, and quite imaginative, though only just justifying its 2 x knife-and-fork Michelin rating. No wines available in quantities of less than a bottle, other than the house wine (which was quite good); no tea, and no possibility of milk with a coffee.
