My friend and I stayed here in a hot July in Palermo. The apartment is smartly decked out in IKEA-chic and the two sisters who own it are friendly and helpful. It is very central, so can be noisy at night, but you can either stick in earplugs and leave the windows open (which I did) or turn on the air-con, which keeps the main room nice and cool. The single bed upstairs can be a little hot however - not sure the air-con reaches up there, though we didn't leave it on all night, so maybe it would have eventually. The bathroom is huge. We only stayed two nights, but if you were looking for a self-catering spot for a week, I reckon this would fit the bill nicely.
