Very nice hotel in a great location. Only a short walk from Via Etnea and Il Duomo. Friendly staff, comfortable, spacious rooms. Rooftop jacuzzi was perfect to relax in. Great selection at breakfast. Transfers were arranged for us on our return to the airport. Would return in a heartbeat.

Wonderful hotel in location close to Duomo. Very helpful staff, especially Renato and Mansour who made transfer arrangements from hotel to Catania airport as well as arranging breakfast bags for our early departure. One of the best showers in all of Sicily.

Room Tip: We were in room 212, on courtyard side of hotel. Quiet, comfortable, and peaceful

Very good position and friendly hotel. Staff always helpful, a good breakfast and spotless room and en suite. Did struggle to adjust the air conditioning and wi-fi not working which was a little irritating. Lots of good restaurants within easy walking distance and even the bus station and railway station stations re walkable.... although rather up-hill on the way back!

Room Tip: Ask for one looking towards the sea on floor 2 or above!

Our room was very dark and gloomy. There was dark red carpet in the room that looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a very long time. I'm sure at one time the rooms were very special, but now they look tired and dated. The lighting is simply not adequate. There is no way of getting the room to feel bright. The bathroom was very clean however. The view from our room was great - overlooking many historic buildings.

The breakfast was good. It was served on the terrace which also afforded great views. We also stopped by the terrace for a glass of wine before heading out for dinner. The sommelier was terrific and front desk staff were very helpful.

Location was good for exploring the city, but we walked from the bus station and there is a very long steep hill to drag your luggage up. A taxi might have been in order.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view. Ask for a room without carpet.

We had a beautifully decorated, clean and quiet room with a private terrace. The staff was friendly, helpful and attentive. We especially appreciated the help and advice from the waiter from England. The 6th floor terrace is a lovely setting for dinner and breakfast and the food was very good. The hotel itself is a fantastic building with original decor and features, with each room named as well as numbered. It was charming and we recommend it.

Stayed here for four nights at the end of October. It was just less than
20 mins taxi ride from the airport -20 euros-. the hotel was homely and the staff vey helpful and friendly. The staff - esp bar man Elliott - were very helpful for information of the local area. Unfortunately the local INFORMATION CENTRE were very pleasant but not too helpful when it came to transport arrangements. No info could be gained from them when it came to bus and train times etc. We actually found the transport system to be very adhoc and unreliable.

The cleanliness of the hotel rooms and public areas was excellent. Breakfast was more than adequate -there was no hint a fry-up thank goodness!!
My only negative comment of the hotel is that neither the jacuzzi nor the sauna were open and we were not informed of this when we booked.
Bars and restaurants are in abundance in the area and reasonably priced. Try the Metro which is only about 3 minutes away.

My greatest disappointment of the stay is the Sicilians attitude to their toilets. In our experience they were mostly without paper, lid or seat and grubby. I think this is very disappointing and in this day and age there is no excuse for the lack attention to cleanliness and hygiene. THE HOTEL WAS EXCELLENT IN THIS AREA.

The hotel's location is excellent and the staff were generally friendly. The room was about the size we expected and was nicely decorated. However the lights were insufficient for the room, so it felt gloomy at night. A very odd system of light switches on small control boxes was also used and one night this stopped working. The man on duty at the desk couldn't help us other than to turn all the lights out in the room (otherwise we'd have been stuck with them on all night). After that we had to make do with the dark until the system was fixed while we were out the next day.

The breakfast was not fantastic, the bathroom had a slightly odd smell to it and the wi fi signal in the room was so weak it was unusable. So, nothing that outright ruined our stay, but we wouldn't stay there again.
