We arrived in Cagliari by chance - the cruise was supposed to go to Tunis - but didn't. Beautiful little town/city. On the outskirts of the centre of town, hours to spare and feeling lunch time upon us, we chose what looked like a nice looking restaurant, where the outside tables were shaded but received the sea breeze. I chose a pasta which had tuna oil "etc" . It arrived with a brown "dust" on top - which I mixed in. I then tasted one of these little brown specs. Wow! A flavour sensation! Intense fish flavour in a tiny crystal. The pasta was one of the best I've ever eaten. The rest of the meal was excellent and the restaurant quickly filled ( a lot of space inside) with locals lunching and several tourists. AND the chef/owner chatted with the diners. What a wonderful bit of serendipity.
