I’m from Sardinia but post this comment in English as I think it may be useful for an international audience. We visited the Trattoria Maristella for a Saturday lunch on mid February, when only locals go out to eat. We ordered some specialities: spaghetti ai ricci (spaghetti with a sauce of sea-urchin eggs), really delicious for € 12,00. Then I chose fried sea-anemones (pretty rare to find) while my wife asked for grilled squids: € 26,00 for all and both excellent.
There are only few tables and a reservation is recommended especially in the week-ends. At 13:45 no more tables were available.
Cost of local wines is in the average starting from € 12,00.
Service is quick and efficient, no frills of course.
The only (little) criticism is for the pretty high cost of the traditional after-meal liquor that was € 4,20, while many other restaurants offer it as complimentary.
But at the end of the day you get a lot of bang for your buck.
