“A Well Located Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2013

The Relais Histo' is well located to the east of Taranto. We found the room comfortable, clean and well equipped. Dinner in the Restaurant was excellent. It's only a short drive to a large shopping complex. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. It is a shame that the Spa is not open at present.

The hotel is wonderful in every aspects, room are spacious, nicely decorated and comfortable. The natural surroundings made you relax when you are on the way to the hotel. Restaurant is superb for dinner and breakfast, with tasty food and detail services. What we like most is the sincere and professional services of the hotel staff. Due to a personal incident we have to stay in Taranto longer than planned. My husband and friend did tried another hotel on the second night but they switched back to Histo for all remaining nights, we stayed total of 4 nights and nothing bad I could say for this hotel. Special thanks to Ms. Daniella of the hotel, who is such a nice person, her advice and care do mean a lot to us : )

We stayed for 4 nights at this beautiful place. Even though we thought about leaving earlier to find another hotel further to the south, we were so charmed by this hotel that we didnt want to leave.
The place is well taken care of, staff very porfessional. You could see it's a very popular place for weddings. There were 2 weddings during our stay, but we were not bothered by the noise, as the hall was on the other side of the rooms, so you couldnt feel it.
The breakfast has a good variety of cakes, and standard conitenetal breakfast. I just found the "hot" station always cold, and disappointed that they dont serve fresh juices. We tried the restaurant at lunch time, the menu is quite limited, but worth trying the pasta of the day! We also had dinner once, the food was of excellent quality. And the service led by Giancarlo was superb!
The rooms were quite spacious, hotel offered baby bed for our 1.5 yrs old son. It was quite comfortable. The swimming pool sometimes got a bit crowded and we couldnt get an umbrella once, as everyone heads there quite early and it's small for the number of guests.
Overall, we found the place had great service, and good value for the money.

Stayed 4 days at this excellent hotel. It is very relaxing, a lot of open space which makes it quiet. The hotel is surrounded by farm land. After staying in hotels located in downtown Italian cities, this place was a nice change. The rooms are very large, a 5 star restaurant, I had the best tasting duck dinner ever at this place. Staff is friendly, polite and first class. The pool is long enough to swim laps and has a nice area around it to get sun or shade. There are bikes available to ride around the countryside.

This is our first night of three and will probably be the last night too.

The pool area was superb, as was the service provided by Guiseppe. Regrettably, the service took a downturn from there on in. The air conditioning in the room was ineffectual, as were the front of desk staff when we asked about the feather pillows that we requested when we booked, but which were not available.

Dinner was interesting on the half-board package: starter: fish or beef; first course: fish or beef; second course: fish or beef....detect a trend?

All in all, a great disappointment.

Wow what a fabulous hotel! We stayed for a couple of nights after a friends wedding further south. Our room was upgraded as the SPA had been closed for re-furb however the upgraded room, the dining areas, generally the whole hotel and the pool were fabulous! The staff could not do enough for you and were happy to stop and have a chat about your holiday and boast about the hotel and it's lovely area. Although you can see the city in the distance, the immediate area is beautiful. The food in the Restaurant is an absolute MUST and the continental breakfast is well worth getting up for! Despite being in the middle of the rolling hills, there is a huge shopping complex about 10 mins drive down the road where you can buy pretty much EVERYTHING! Definitely go there! It is lush!

We stayed here for a few nights for a 'minimoon' after getting married in Italy. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left the service from this hotel was impeccable. The staff were so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Our room was luxurious and spotless with a free soft drink minibar. The food and the service in the restaurant were superb and the staff took the time to talk to you about the menu and the wine list. We seemed to be the only people drinking in the bar, but the barman deserves a special mention for his recommendations and the effort in preparing in the best Bellini I've ever tasted! The pool area was very nice with very comfy hammock style beds. We will definitely be retuning.
