Note all the other reviews. All execellent will be staying here again. A couple of minor negatives, firstly they only have three rooms so you must book and secondly no aircon so avoid in the peak of summer. Otherwise this really has it all.

A perfect small hotel in a 17th century palace a few steps from the Trani Harbor and the city center; an unbeatable bargain at 50 euros (January) for a high ceiling double room with balcony. Albergo Lucy is very clean and especially quiet as it fronts a square -- Piazza Plebiscito--that has no automobile access. (An old church and convent are across the square and the convent has been converted to a women's prison, probably the source of the traffic control!) Trani itself is our favorite small city on Italy's Adriatic Coast--a real Italian city of 50,000 with a lovely harbor and none of the high rise vacation hotels that clutter the Adriatic Coast. Only drawback is no breakfast is available in the hotel but food stores (and excellent seafood restaurants) are close by. phone 0883 58 44 44 or go to ---.

I'm sure Trani is wonderful on a warm day. When I visited in early October, the waves crashed against the sea wall. I suspect there are beachside hotels to stay in north and south of Trani. I stayed at Albergo Lucy in Trani, on a piazza near the beach. It's a simple place with a great price. It's clean and comfortable. Trani has some tremendous seafood restaurants. The Norman cathedral is worth the visit.
