I stayed at this hotel for two nights. Most of the staff were helpful. It was very easy to find, and in a good location - near the station but easy to walk to the old town.
I was originally booked at another hotel, but when I confirmed the booking I was told to go to Pensione Romeo instead. When I arrived, there was a mix up with my booking, so I had to change rooms after one night. The first night I had a single room with a shared bathroom. The second night I had a single room with a private bathroom.
The room with the shared bathroom was terrible. The only window was a vent into the hallway at ceiling level (with a bent coat hanger to pull it open). The room was tiny and it had a strange smell and was very musty (although there was a fan which helped a bit). The sheets had hairs on them. The surfaces looked dirty. The shared bathrooms were disgusting (so much built up grime and soap scum).
The room with a private bathroom was ten euros more, and was much better than the first. The room and bathroom were pretty clean, and there was a proper window. It was still a worn budget hotel room, but compared to the first room it was ok. It was definitely worth the ten euros extra, but I still would look elsewhere.
