A small group of us stayed 6 nights at the Glam Boutique Hotel Vicenza - yes, the G stands for Glam! There's fun in the name, as there is fun and "glam" in the decor of the reception rooms, with their Venetian chandeliers, leather seating, old silverware in display cabinets, some lovely textiles, and lots of black on black with splashes of red. They are fun, glamorous and inviting rooms, where we could sit and read or chat, and where, in the mornings, we had the most delicious breakfast, supervised by a very accommodating Mara.
The bedrooms are more muted and relaxing in theme. There is considerable variation in the size of the bedrooms. Ours were certainly spacious and very comfortable. There are, however, some small bedrooms, where the huge bed occupies much of the floor space - comfortable as singles or people with next to no luggage. The bathrooms are modern [trendy], very clean and amazingly spacious [even in the small bedrooms], with all the expected amenities, including robes and slippers. My only issue would be with the heating. As in so many European hotels, the place is overheated. We had to open windows, which for one room meant some traffic noise.
The staff, including Francesca at reception and the proprietor Tiziano, were all very welcoming and professional. They were attentive to our needs, friendly but without being effusive or intrusive.
We chose to use the hotel carpark @ 25euro/day, which was not excessive for the convenience. Parking officers abound in Vicenza!! Staff always parked or brought the car at a moment's notice.
We had 6 wonderful days at the G Boutique and are thrilled that finally in Vicenza there is somewhere to stay that can boast Italian style, professional service and attention to detail. The location is great too.
