“Serene, friendly and affordable”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2012 via mobile

My husband and I spent two nights at La Risarona with our two-year-old and could 't have been happier. The agriyourismo is situated very close to vicenza but far enough outside the city to be set in the middle of rice fields with its own pond and beautiful garden. The only sound we heard was the occasional distant rumble of a train passing by. The property is new and the room was spacious (by European standards) and very clean. The lady who greeted us and served our breakfast spoke very little English but was so accommodating and friendly that it didn't matter at all.

You will need a car to get here but the agritourismo is only a short distance from the autostrade. Drive slowly because the signs do not stand out well and could be easily missed.

If we had one negative observation it might be that the breakfast overly emphasized sweet breads and breakfast cakes as opposed to breads, cheeses, etc. But still there was a good selection of things to choose from.

We would definitely recommend La Risarona and will stay thee again on our next visit to the Veneto.

La Risarona was a terrific place to stay. It’s an amazing combination of classic farm buildings with high quality contemporary renovations designed for the 21st century. The owner and her mother were very welcoming hosts and served an incredible breakfast. The grounds are beautiful, with a little lake in front and beautiful fields all around. It’s a short drive from there to Vicenza – one of the towns in the Veneto with the richest architectural heritage. We can recommend La Risarona without hesitation as a place to stay in visiting the Veneto.

Hi, though we only stayed one night we were bought in love with this place. As an Aussie and a Dutch we travelled quite a bit of the world, and this place is just spot on. For the 70 euro or so a night we paid for 1 double room, you get everything you need. The place is very modernly refurbished, with quality wooden floors, a nicely done clean bathroom (just a shower, sink, and enough space to dry yourself and good toilletries). Our room had view on the rear garden, and my boyfriend had to get used to the sealing with the charming wooden beams, but that was fine. Room had heating and airco.

In case you wonder if you get any noise from the highway: no it is far enough away. This place is a perfect spot to travel in Northern Italy, whether to Verona or Venice, it is a nice distance away. But you don't experience the high prices of being in the centre of such cities. All in all, we would definitely come back when we go to that area..

Oh and did I mention the delicious breakfast with all kinds of fresh baked dolce? Think of quich, very cakes and cookies.. Perfect holidays food!

Room Tip: Think out-side the box, and off the beaten track.

This charming, family-owned hotel is housed in a restored barn. Opened since September, 2011, the hotel is located in the middle of an ancient Roman rice field. The rooms are cozy and well appointed. The breakfast is good with homemade breads and preserves. It is a great place to stay when touring the surrounding area. We enjoyed our stay and look forward to a return visit when next passing through the area. TIP for Finding Hotel: Exiting off of SR11, pass through Grisanago and continue on for about 6-8 kms. Via Piovene is located on the right-hand side of the street and has a light yellow Brasserie on one corner and a small stone building on the other. Turn right and continue down the dirt road turning left at the first side road (there is a sign for La Risarona on the gate). If approaching at night, be sure to stay in the middle of the road as there is a drainage ditch on either side of the road.
