We had the luxury of staying at Villa Beatrice for five nights in October. Simone greeted us with his infamous enthusiasm and passion for life and all things Verona. He helped to get us settled and then sat with us for more than an hour while we discussed our potential itinerary (which included great tips on where to park safely and for free, restaurant recommendations, etc.). Simone also catered to my unique dietary quirks and had some of my favorite foods and beverages available that afternoon and for breakfast the following morning. He then left on his delayed honeymoon and we were treated to have his brother, Christian, be our host for the remainder of our stay. Christian is the yin to Simone’s yang. Simone is effusive; Christian is quiet. And they are both phenomenal chefs. I absolutely loved waking to hear Christian busily readying breakfast. We were completely spoiled by his coffee, cappuccino, freshly made juices, fruit salads, homemade yogurt and porridge (which we enjoyed for two mornings because we craved it from the morning before). The Villa is beautiful … inside and out. Our room was large and bright and the bed was extremely comfortable. I realize that this review is a bit of a mixed metaphor because Christian assumed the host role for his brother, but in the day and a half that Simone was with us, I can tell you that he is beyond attentive to the needs of his customers. We had never stayed at a bed and breakfast previous to this; if all were run with this professionalism and care, we might get hooked. And our five days in Verona at B&B Villa Beatrice with Simone and Christian also helped us to fall in love with Italy. Thanks guys. It was perfect.
