“Very nice place great value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2013

Nice and cosy, very clean b&b. Very helpful and kind management.
Great breakfast!
Nice location not very far from the city center.
Easy Parking at the near roads.
It would be our first choice, next time to Verona.

It's very near to the train Station. We arrived Verona at 7:30pm and could settle down in Verona very quickly. It's about 10-15 minutes walk to the Arena where outdoor opera is shown during summer. The breakfast is average. The owner is nice and the staff are friendly. I would surely recommend my friends to stay if they go to Verona!

Room Tip: No lift in the B&B

This is my second time to stay here. Last time in a double, this time in a twin room. Friendly welcome, clean, comfortable bedrooms. Free wifi and nice breakfast. The shared bathrooms is what keeps the price so low and affordable and i have yet to meet another guest in the bathrooms as the ratio of rooms to bathrooms is 3:2. Perfectly nice guesthouse, 10 mins walk up the main boulevard of Verona to the Piazza Erbe. Would recommend to anyone looking for low cost, comfortable accommodation.

I stayed here with my partner and 4 others in Dec and we were given top floor rooms with shared bathrooms. The rooms were nice, what we expected for the price we paid. They were slightly small and the shared bathrooms wouldn't lock. Other than that it was ok, the breakfast was pretty good and prepared when we went in for it and we had no problems with train noise. The biggest problem we had was with the check-in and not having someone at the house during working hours.

We stayed twice at the hotel in different years. The first time it was very pleasant stay (if you're tired enough to sleep tight even if the trains are pasing behind the building). We were supposed to call phones and wait till the mannager came, but everithyng else was perfect, clean rooms, perfect bathrooms, plenty of breakfast. Well the second time after a few years we were not that happy. It was during the winter and we had problems with the aircon and the staff wasn't very friendly when we asked about heater. The next morning the staff wasn't there and there was no breakfast served nor there was a hot drink available, we were forced to look inside the fridge, there were some croissants and yogurt /hopefully it wasn't locked as I recently read from another visitor's artikle/. So if it wasn't that carelesness of the staff and the proximity of the train trucks it's a very good place to stay!

5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 4, 2012

We stayed at La Magnolia over the first weekend in December. We got such a good rate (around 75 euro for 3 people for one night) that we didn't know what to expect, but it was amazing! Inside, the B&B is charming, nicely decorated, and very, very clean. Breakfast was standard and tasty (toast, yogurt, fresh fruit, croissants, etc) and kept us going for the first part of our day (especially since we always took one or two small snacks with us), and we were able to communicate pretty well with the owners, despite only one of our party being able to speak Spanish/Italian. Everyone was very hospitable and they allowed us to keep our bags there after checkout until 6 pm. The wifi worked well (once we remembered to ask for the password) and the location is great--perfectly situated between the train station and the centre of Verona, an easy walk to either. Felt very secure; you need a code to open the outside gate and there are security cameras everywhere.
It was a little empty at reception since this is what I think is a family-owned B&B, not a fully-staffed 24/7 operation, but that's just fine as long as you have everything you need or remember to ask at check in. It is very close to the train station, but I only woke up a few times, and the quality of the B&B itself more than made up for this, for me.
All in all, we were amazed and pleasantly surprised at this great B&B, which (in the off-season) we got for hostel prices. A great surprise after staying in so many hostels.
