“off the beaten track, worth the effort”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2011

we stayed two nights, had a good room with views over Verona and to Lake Garda. Welcome was friendly and included a glass of local wine - so good we visited the vineyard and bought some bottles. Good continental breakfast, friendly helpful management team, brilliant terrace views. The B&B has a restaurant on the lower ground floor run by a separate owner - food was good, popular with locals and a great terrace. Plenty of parking and you need a car as it away from nearly everything - except sunshine and peace and quiet.

Room Tip: rooms with a view are great, but there is a terrace that does just as well

My partner and I (aged 27 and 28) stayed here in July 2011. We want to write about our stay on Trip Advisor to say thank you to Gabriele as we had such a wonderful time (despite secretly wanting to keep this little gem to ourselves!!).The reviews on this villa speak for themselves: the views: incredible, the breakfast on the veranda: lovely, the restaurant downstairs: delicious. The highlight of our trip though was Gabriele - he couldn't have been more welcoming. We are both keen cyclists and although we did not take our bikes with us - the most moving thing was that Gabriele lent us his personal bikes to go cycling up in the mountains for the day, planned a route/ sightseeing ops, gave us his personal number in case we got lost and snacks to get us through to lunch!! Beautiful area to cycle but the best bits/ views are very hilly!!!! Very accessible location to Garda and Verona - but need a car really to get around... Thank you Gabriele!!!

Room Tip: "definitely worth paying a little extra for a view of both Lake Garda and Verona"

Villa S. Giorgio is an exceptionally good place to stay. It is small, clean, comfortable and has wonderful views down towards Lake Garda (on one side) and Verona on the other. The owner, Gabriele, is most courteous and welcoming. The room we had was comfortable and airy. The breakfasts on the veranda are excellent, plenty of choice and good quality. Although it is located up in the Valpolicella hills everything is still very accessible. If you want somewhere peaceful and relaxing to stay, with high standards, but not high prices Villa S. Giorgio would not disappoint in any way!

I am really please to be writing this review as i believe if you are travelling to this part of the world you should definately stay here.

For a start the owner couldn't do enough for us. He was very helpful and gave us plenty of tips and ideas for the local area. He was more than happy to chat with us and on check out even gave us a couple of bottles of water for our trip on to Bolzano. I think it was these little touches that most impressed us.

Breakfast was always very fresh and even included some local produce!!!!

Rooms and hotel were very clean

Restaurant attached to the hotel also offered some excellent and very reasonably priced food. We ate there several times.

We stayed at this wonderful Villa for 5 nights primarily to attend a weddin at the Church in San Giorgio. It is in an excellent position overlooking vineyards with view to Lake Guarda and Verona in the distance. The Manager was wonderful guiding us to local spots particularly around Lake Guarda and in Verona. The Villa is extremely quiet and the breakfast was great especially tghe fruit and bread (the best we had in our almost 6 week stay in Italy). The village is very tiny but has a quaint little bar which great view and an excellent restaurant serving organic food. A great place to stay made most enjoyable by very friendly and hospitable staff.

We stayed unfortunately only one night in this inn. The hotel is absolutely in very nice place surrouded by some of the best vineyards in Europe.
Hospitality was great and hotel is clean and good. Lake Garda is 20 minutes by car and can be seen from the hotel. Hotel is located higher in a small village and navigator to enter there is recommended - the place, view and personnel is worth of going there. Nice, quiet, clean, very friendly and good quality. Highly recommened.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2011

It was actually last April that we stayed for four nights so this review is long overdue.

Firstly, it is beautifully situated in the hills above Verona in the contryside...and that is a big element of its appeal. Valpolicella area is superb and has many days worth of activities from winetasting, hiking, eating , old churches and awesome scenery that can be sampled on foot and by car. Lake Garda, Verona and many small villages are all easy, convenient short drives.

Hotel is charming romantic spot, incredible views, extremely modern and immaculately clean/well maintained. Excellent international breakfast on a terrace that needs to be seen to be believed. Many interesting wines on site (and a full bar if you seek spirits or beer). All those attractions are bested by the multilingual hospitality. You will want to bring Gabriel home with you! Highly recommended.

We should also note that there is a gourmet restaurant downstars --run by a different group of owners-- that is outstanding. We went twice for dinner with excellent results. I'd rate it with a Michelin one star (which is high praise).
