Booked this hotel because of tripadvisor reviews, The hotel is in a fantasic location on main square (piazza Erbe)and this is a very strong plus but i need to say i would class this as a quaint B&B not a hotel as its very basic , it has tiny lifts (fits 2 people in at a time) small breakfast rooms and very very small bathrooms( knees can touch the shower cubical whilst on the loo).
This hotel is very clean and tidy, staff are lovely & very helpful (sent us to some great restaurants ), it is a very good base to stay to see all of verona from

My wife and I selected this hotel based on the excellent reviews on tripadvisor and we were not disappointed. The location is great and the room was as good as any that we have stayed in in Europe. While the hotel had lived up to our expecations it was what followed that was special.
On our first morning I suddenly became ill and needed to be taken to hospital. The staff very quickly provided all of the necessary support for my wife, a packed lunch when she visited me, even bus tickets were provided and on her return the enquiries about my health were genuine. All of this was done quite willingly despite a language barrier at times. Their concern for our welfare was as if we were one of the family.
We needed to extend our stay and luggage was moved from room to room as required without any fuss. On my return I was greeted as a friend and the warmth of the greeting was truly genuine. When it was time to leave we were farwelled by all as friends. It is how people behave in difficult circumstances that is important and we will be forever grateful for the help given and friendliness shown to us during our stay at The Aurora.

“You may want to avoid Room 7”

Hotel Aurora

We booked this hotel in a hurry after a brief search of the internet. We had booked an unsuitable hotel in Lake Garda and needed to move on so we called in the morning to stay that night and the next. As all the other reviews confirm, the hotel is in an excellent location and Verona is a lovely city. We preferred it to Florence.

We were given Room 7 just off the reception which judging by the other reviews, we suspect is not one of their better rooms. It was 150 euros a night which was more than we paid at any other hotel on our tour of Italy and we were disappointed with the room. There was no view and the bathroom was small with only a half bath and a hand held shower. Other than that it was simple but clean with a king size bed. Like most other Italian hotels, there are no tea and coffee making facilities in the room but the receptionist was happy to provide us with tea and coffee when we asked.

Parking is a nightmare. The hotel staff were very helpful indicating the areas we were allowed to park in and gave us a free permit to display in our car. However finding a space in these areas was extremely difficult. Verona's streets are very narrow and negotiating them endlessly looking for a space was a stressful experience at times.

Breakfast was simple but adequate. Overall we felt the price was high compared to other hotels but you certainly cannot beat the location.

“Super Birthday Trip”

Hotel Aurora

This was a trip organised to celebrate my Birthday with my husband, my 2 sisters and their husbands. We stayed at The Aurora from 16th-18th July and had a wonderful time.

They gave us 3 rooms with the same views but on different floors which I thought was great! The staff were all vey helpful and friendly and even booked our restuarants for us both nights. As we were seeing Aida they advised us on the time to eat which was perfect!

The breakfast was vey nice and as has been stated on here you could take it on to the balcony, but it was very hot when we were there so only my husband and I did that on one morning! (Not that I am complaining the weather was amazing.)

The rooms were very clean and bathrooms fine even had hair dryers in them. Air conditoning worked very well and was much quieter than we have experienced in other hotels.

A really super trip to Verona which we all thought was a lovely city. I am so glad I checked out trip advisor as I probably wouldn't have found this hotel otherwise which offers very good value in the centre of Verona.

Stayed at the Hotel Aurora for 3 nights on July 8-11. I Loved the Aurora. I originally contacted the hotel via email since they appeared to be unavailable and they were always prompt and welcoming with their responses.(when doing booking-you have to fill out request and fax it back with passport and credit card to hotel directly and they take 1 nights stay deposit)

Getting to the hotel was not hard at all-We took the train from Venice to the Porto Nuovo stop and took bus 92. Going to the airport was easy too..the taxis are right outside the hotel and it was about 23 euros.

It was a small & cute hotel. Situated centrally on Piazza Erbe and an easy stroll to Piazza Bra where we saw the Opera--Aida.

Our room was small but very clean and situated facing Piazza Erbe with the balcony. For 140 euros..this was a really great deal.
I think that the appeal of this hotel was that it had personal touches that other hotels lacked.

There were chocolates on my pillow and fresh flowers at my bedside on arrival. They had a nice breakfast buffet(breads, cheeses, meats and cookies) and even champagne. You had a choice to eat in the dining room or even take your breakfast out on the terrace to check out the action on the Piazza where the merchants would be opening up their stalls.

The staff was superb-very helpful and friendly and accomodating. I would definately stay at this hotel again and highly recommend it.
