“Best dinner experience of our trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2014

We spent two weeks in Italy and had the best meal right here in this small, unassuming restaurant at the gates of Verona.

The meal was fantastic and the atmosphere matched.

We serendipitously stumbled onto L'Orologio after rain had stopped us from browsing around.

The staff were very friendly and we certainly feel like we were presented with typical Italian cuisine served with typically Italian charm.

We'll be going back next time we're in Verona.

“Unpretentious local restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2014

We stopped by, without a reservation, for lunch at 2pm after a long train journey. We were made to feel very welcome by the charming waiter who took the time to explain the menu in detail to us. We chose some very good bruschetta and pasta dishes followed by excellent home made tiramisu and chocolate panna cotto. Coffee and house Valpolicella Ripasso were both really good. We will return next time we're in Verona.

“Good meal. Reasonable price. Very good service. .”

I had lunch with my family and the pasta (hone made) and the risotto (menu of the day) were excellent. The service was friendly and fast. I would come back to this place.

“I expected more from this restaurant”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 24, 2013

When I came to Verona, My hotel adviced me to go and eat at L'Orologio which by its name you can guess it is under the famous clock on the gate in the entrance to piazza bra.
I tried the local veronese dish of Horsemeat and Polenta, and for me the meat was too salty and stiff.
The service was good , the atmosphere was pleasent, and the price was average.

“Fantastic local restaurant with great service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 17, 2013

Good location just the other side of the gate from the Arena. Small, but covers a great range of food presented well by very attentive staff. I tried the octopus with black olives starter and the horse meat main for the experience. It was great! Wide range of wines available to go with the dishes and the staff were always there to help and bring some local charm. Our window seat allow us to 'people watch' on the street outside. With good value for money we will be back in the future.
