Two of us Stayed here for 4 nights at €195 x 3 and €150 x 1.
The location of this hotel is perfect, it is right on Corso Porta Nuova. It is 5 minutes walk from the Arena and 10 to 15 mins walk to the train/bus station. When we arrived at Verona Station, we took a taxi to the hotel about a 3 minute drive and cost me €7, but I also tipped €2. Not sure if that is expected but he was a nice driver and didn't rip us off.
On our day of departure as we had time we walked to the station and it took 15 minutes with 3 bags and is very doable if you are fit. You do have to cross 2 major roads, but that is not a problem. The heat might be the only deterrant.

We had room 322 on third floor facing the main street and we had a balcony with room for two. That room is small and the en suite is fine with a shower, no bath. They provide all the usual toiletries.
The bed was comfortable, and although there is traffic noise it was never loud enough to keep us awake as the windows seem to be well sound proofed. It was nice to be able to open the windows in the evening and watch the world go by. A shutter can be lowered during the heat of the day and at night and is very necessary.
We found the air conditioning to be very good, and it was not at all noisy, just a gentle constant hum.
If traffic noise is something you cannot take then there are also rooms at the rear of the hotel which would be quieter, but there are no balconies with these.

There is a mini bar in the room and the prices are good, but unfortunately not a lot of room to put any of your own water or wine. One bottle of water/wine is about all that will fit.
Breakfast is buffet continental and is very very good. The staff in the breakfast room are fabulous, so attentive and smiling. The coffee there is one of the best I have ever tasted. They provide fruits, cereals, juices, cheese, hams, breads and pastries (YUMMMM!)
Reception and Foyer is small and they have one PC dedicated to Internet which high speed and free to residents. I never had dificulty getting time on the internet there.
I found all the reception staff to be really lovely and they will help whenever they can without being intrusive. Check in, in particular was very pleasant and welcoming.
The rooms were very well cleaned on a daily basis and fresh towels provided as necessary. They provide a bowl of fruit - free gratis.
The hotel has a number of decent quality bicycles which residents can use free of charge. I did, and it was a very pleasant experience to ride around the beautiful city of Verona, if a little scary at times with the traffic !

The hotel is currently expanding (into the building next door) and it will be interesting to see if the level of friendliness and personality will be maintained when the new rooms are added. I certainly hope they do and I would have no hesitation in staying at Hotel Verona again.

We stayed 6 nights at the Hotel Verona, from 10 to 16 June, in a room on the 4th floor with a small balcony facing the street. Positive points: location - 5-minute walk to city center and 15-minute walk to train station, in room WIFI (ask for a password at the reception), soundproof windows, cable TV, working air conditioning, satisfactory breakfast buffet, cleaness, minibar items reasonably priced, in-room safe, free use of bicycles. Negative points: small wardrobe, almost no place to properly arrange the clothes. Overall I rate this properly, which I found while searching on Tripadvisor, above my expectations, and we would certainly return.

“The suite was a bit dilapidated”

Verona Hotel

Jun 19, 2007

The location was great and the reception is nice and modern but after that it gets a bit tired. They were adding some rooms when we went there but we were given a free upgrade to a suite and it was a bit tired/grotty - unfortunately. The tiles in the bathroom were mouldy and the bath was very small. The TV in the bedroom didn't work. The staff were nice and maybe the hotel will be nicer after the renovations finish.

Having spent four nights at the end of May 2007 at the Verona Hotel, I am happy to recommend it. Centrally situated, near the Arena, the hotel is 10 minutes walking distance from the railway station but can be reached by number 11, 12, or 13 bus (tickets can be purchased at any tobacconists). The bus stop for Lake Garda is also in close proximity to the hotel (tickets also available from tobacconists).

The reception staff are highly efficient and helpful and breakfast is more than adequate (fruit juice, fruit, yogourt, cereal, cold meats, cheese, jams bread, rolls, cakes, croissants, etc).

The room was spotless and confortable with a large-screen TV (Sky available on extra payment), well stocked mini bar, hairdryer, toiletries and free wireless internet access.

Our room was facing the main street but being on the fifth floor street noise was not a problem and the view from the (small balcony) was attractive.

I would certainly return to this hotel on any future visit to Verona.

“Perfect Location, Nice Hotel”

We were landing in Verona from the U.K. and needed a nice, reasonably-priced hotel for one night and found one online called the Hotel Verona. It turned out to be the perfect hotel for our short visit to Verona. We took a bus from the airport to the train station. From there, we thought about walking but decided to take the bus. Luckily, a man told us there was a festival on and that the bus schedule was different than the regular schedule. Normally you would take the Buses 11, 12, or 13. We paid on board, so it was easy. The bus took us up towards the Arena and we saw the hotel on the right side and got off the bus. This was probably less than a mile, but too far to walk with suitcases (and with not knowing where were were going initially).

We checked in and the room was nice and clean. We slept well, had breakfast which had a very nice spread. We checked out and the hotel allowed us to store our bags and then we went out and found how really close we were to the old city. It was perfect. We had a great day seeing all the sights (the Arena is amazing and majestic) and walked to the river which is also quite beautiful with the bridges and the smaller Roman theatre on the other side.

So all in all, I'd definitely recommend this hotel and recommend people seeing Verona, which is not usually on the tourist itinerary but should be.
