We stayed at this hotel as part of a 3 stop Italian honeymoon, Verona being our second port of call. Admittedly the hotel is difficult to find as I would think all hotels are in Verona, but once you're there you will not be disappointed. We were lucky with the blue area parking near to the hotel, however the hotels secure parking was relatively expensive. The Hotel gives a grand feel, on arrival we were offered a welcoming drink before our bags were taken to the room. We were lucky enough to be in a fabulous suite (which we think we'd been given as on honeymoon) which had a dressing room, bathroom and bedroom complete with a 42" LCD TV (not that we watched it). The only downside of this room was that there was only one very small window in the bedroom which overlooked a central terrace area therefore needing lights on most of the time, but nothing really to complain about. There was a great selection at breakfast with all staff being very friendly and helpful.
Verona itself, we felt, could be covered in 1.5 days, the amphi theatre was being set up for a concert but we paid to see it anyway but for 6E each we felt very let down as it's quite a lot of money to really see nothing more than you could see through the railings! Save your cash and only go inside if you are lucky enough to be there for an opera.
Eating out - there is obvioulsy masses of restaurants to choose from, we found a gorgeous little place called 'Hostaria la Vecchia Fontania' there is no english on the menu but that adds to the whole event so take a phrase book. Two course each and a half carafe of red wine was only 42E - I had the most gorgous tortellini with beans as a primo.
Great hotel and great City.

It was very difficult in this maze of one way streets to drive to this hotel in the heart of downtown Verona. Hotel was nice enough, with good temperature controls, firm mattress, and nice shower- 155E a night. Beware if you have a car- try to get a free blue parking space on the street (hotel will give you a card for the dashboard, the deposit for which they return to you when you leave) or you'll pay $30 plus a night for a garage space with the hotel. Good location for walking around the city- the arena was a disappointment, filled as a performance venue with rows of seats- probably a nice place to see/hear a concert though.

This is just an excellent hotel in all regards...rooms, location, service, staff. With early morning departure, hotel provided superb boxed continental breakfast at no charge. Our room had a lovely terrace to sit out on.

I cannot being to tell you how great this hotel was. We started to pic a different hotel from Trip advisor and then we saw some negative reviews and picked Accademia. We stayed in Milan, Lugano, Bellagio and Verona and this was our favorite hotel. Every amenity you could ask for as well as location cleanliness and friendliest service. A first class hotel and decent prices for visitors from USA. Free internet, that was a real plus. Great location. I cannot sat enough about how great this hotel was. What a lovely surprise. Thanks all!

Have just returned from 10 days and 4 hotels in Italy. Three 3 star and this 4 star hotel. There is a quantum leap between the 3 star and 4 star Accademia.
Accademia is sited within 200m of the Arena, Giulietta's house and other attractions. Bags carried to room (not what you get with 3 star). Our room had a large bedroom and bathroom with (small) bath. How I missed the mould and smell of the Italian 3 star hotel bathrooms ! Large flat-screen TV (disappointedly, the only English language on it was CNN World News, but this is common with most Italian hotels). Air Con worked well and was virtually silent. Also, I could understand how to work it ! The blinds were electric and the windows so well glazed all light and sound were completely eliminated at night. No balcony nor pool as is typical of a 'town' hotel.
Reception area was spacious and well furnished in 'Gentlemens' Club Style'. Even an English newspaper (The Times of course). Signed photos on the wall of faded stars (I think I recognised Caruso).
Breakfast was in a large and airy dining room on the first floor, although no obvious views from the tables. Good quality 'Continental' plus scrambled egg. Waiters looked smart and attentive without being supercilious.
There were possible evening meals at the hotel. A specimen menu showed a price of E35 for a typical Italian meal. This may not be as expensive as it seems when compared to the Verona tourist prices !
