We stayed at this hotel as part of a 3 stop Italian honeymoon, Verona being our second port of call. Admittedly the hotel is difficult to find as I would think all hotels are in Verona, but once you're there you will not be disappointed. We were lucky with the blue area parking near to the hotel, however the hotels secure parking was relatively expensive. The Hotel gives a grand feel, on arrival we were offered a welcoming drink before our bags were taken to the room. We were lucky enough to be in a fabulous suite (which we think we'd been given as on honeymoon) which had a dressing room, bathroom and bedroom complete with a 42" LCD TV (not that we watched it). The only downside of this room was that there was only one very small window in the bedroom which overlooked a central terrace area therefore needing lights on most of the time, but nothing really to complain about. There was a great selection at breakfast with all staff being very friendly and helpful.
Verona itself, we felt, could be covered in 1.5 days, the amphi theatre was being set up for a concert but we paid to see it anyway but for 6E each we felt very let down as it's quite a lot of money to really see nothing more than you could see through the railings! Save your cash and only go inside if you are lucky enough to be there for an opera.
Eating out - there is obvioulsy masses of restaurants to choose from, we found a gorgeous little place called 'Hostaria la Vecchia Fontania' there is no english on the menu but that adds to the whole event so take a phrase book. Two course each and a half carafe of red wine was only 42E - I had the most gorgous tortellini with beans as a primo.
Great hotel and great City.
