Found Hotel Leopardi at the last minute when we decided to add a night at the opera in verona to our trip. It was out of the city center but we had bought a "Verona card", best value ever, that included use of public buses so we were able to take a bus from the train station to the Hotel, then the Hotel to the city center quite easily. The hotel also offered a shuttle to and more importantly, from the opera. Not sure how we would of gotten home so late at night with out the shuttle. The hotel is very nice, like staying at a nice hotel in the United States. Not a lot of charm or uniqueness but a nice change of pace after staying at bed and breakfasts across italy. Breakfast was included and had a huge variety of food. Would have no problem staying again, but would look for a place within walking of the city center first.

“Okay but far from city centre”

We booked 2 nights at this hotel for the opera festival. The hotel itself was okay (not 4 star). The room we stayed in was average size with limited amenities (i.e. no iron) but the buffet breakfast was pretty good. The location was the biggest problem. It was about a 20-minute brisk walk into the city centre. Without the shuttle bus to and from the Arena, it would've been very inconvenient for us to get around. But the shuttle service was very good - we didn't have to wait long at all to get picked-up and dropped off.

I would recommend staying closer to the city centre if you are planning to attend the opera and especially if it is your first time in Verona.

“Not a great hotel”

I was recommended this hotel from a person who was from Verona and when I got there, I wondered why??? It was located around streets that were coverered in graffiti and had no swimming pool and it was 30 degrees outside. The hotel wanted us to use their ironing service at extortionate prices and it was very business like, no personal touch like the hotel croce di Malta in Lido de jesolo.

Also, I had cancelled hotel leopardi in Naples on the phone a month before I came to Italy and the man on the reception desk had confirmed that my booking for leopardi hotel in Naples was cancelled but when I came home from my holidays, I was charged 85 Euro, even though I had phoned a month before to cancel. BE WARNED TRAVELLERS!! I am not impressed with this group of hotels.

“Great value, beautiful hotel”

Hotel Leopardi

The Hotel Leopardi is a beautiful hotel with well appointed rooms filled with modern luxuries.

My husband, a family friend and I all shared a triple room and we had plenty of space. The room was enormous! We loved the hardwood floors and flat screen TV. The bathroom was also large and its design resembled a spa.

The breakfast buffet was large and the fruit salad was delicious.

The only downside to the Hotel Leopardi is that it's a 10-minute walk outside the city wall. To get to the arena, it's another 20-minute walk. So, the hotel is not close to the sites, by any means. But, for the value, it was worth it for us. And, the walk along the river is pleasant.

I recommend the Hotel Leopardi to sensible Verona travellers.

“Great Stay”

Hotel Leopardi

We were just delighted with the accomodations, the restaurant (both for breakfast and for dinner), and most of all, with the service. The front desk staff spoke English beautifully and were very helpful. The hotel is a short and lovely walk into the old city. We recommend the hotel and the town as a stop along one's way in Italy.
