“Hidden Gem in bustling Verona”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2013

This out of the way hotel is in the bustling courtyard that houses Juliet's Baicony and cannot be seen from the street. It has a small entrance with very helpful staff. We were allowed to leave our cases as we arrived at 0930 and checked in at 1330. Our room was a lovely size and beautifully decorated.Bathroom had Jacuzzi bath with great shower. Bulgari toiletries were very welcome. Our room wasn't overlooking the court yard but it had good double glazing so we didn't hear the bustling street below. Breakfast is served in the room as they do not have a dining room. This wasn't a problem as the waiter lays out breakfast (pre ordered the night before) tastefully and quietly at what ever time you have ordered it for. The hotel is in the centre of Verona so easy to get to all the attractions. We had a great 2 nights there and saw everything we wanted to. Would highly recommend.

Room Tip: we went for an elegant room which may have been a little larger than the Comfort rooms but you may...

We should be thankful that the Charme Relais management has so seamlessly incorporated old world style and comfort with one of the world's classic love stories. The room was lovely with many elegant touches like a stone fireplace mantel. The chance to have breakfast in the room at our leisure was much appreciated after a hectic travel schedule. Our only regret is that we could spend only one night here!

My wife wanted to stay in "The" hotel. We'd just left our daughter and her husband who'd got married at Lake Garda, travelled to Verona and stayed in a hotel of a similar name, as it was getting quite late but wanted to make the second night special before we set off to Florence and we weren't disappointed. We'd called in the day before, to confirm arrangements. Whilst there, we were given 2 passes to visit all the main attractions which we made use of that day. The following day, we arrived at approx.12am lunch time, to find our room already available. The hotel, room, staff were outstanding. Our bedroom, on the second floor, overlooked "THE" balcony. The bedroom and bathroom were luxurious, we even found time to use the Jacuzzi. In the evening, there was some event going on in the courtyard and we were treated to "songs from the balcony"-magical, we went out for dinner and on our return, there was a dance troupe performing. Breakfast was ordered, the night before and brought to the room the following morning, laid out on a large round table, the quality of the food was superb and the quantity was bordering on too much to eat. Unfortunately, we had to be away quite early as we were catching a timed train to Florence. The location is an oasis of quietness but only a few metres away from the crowds. France was my favourite place, but now it's Verona first, Italy second. Come out of the hotel, turn right to the Piazza, and within 100 metres on the left, are taxis to take you to the train station or airport, costing 8 euros.

I can not praise this hotel high enough - it was perfect.
The room was perfect. The location was perfect. The staff were perfect. Breakfast served in our room, chosen from an extensive menu the previous evening was perfect.
If your planing a holiday to Verona, this hotel is undoubtably the best you can chose for your money. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Ask for room overlooking Romeo and Juliette's balcony - wonderful setting.

I took my girlfriend to Verona to propose, we stayed here for both nights and it was absolutely stunning! My now Fiancee (whoop whoop), was mesmerised by the room and services provided!

Breakfast served in the room at your chosen time was fantastic and the jacuzzi bath . . . . Wow

To be shown through the thronging mass of tourists in Juliets courtyard to our suite with balcony overlooking the famous one opposite was amazing.. but then at 7pm after the courtyard was cleared of tourists, to have a private drinks party next to the Juliet statue with our small group of four people was beyond our wildest dreams. Swifts screamed over the ancient roof tops with groups of tourists pressed against the locked gates at the back of the courtyard with their zoom lenses looking at us enviously with our champagne glasses. We had a super dinner at a restaurant recommended by the hotel and experienced Verona with the locals who were celebrating an Italian Federation day. A decadent last night ending a magical long weekend to celebrate my husbands 50th birthday (we spent the previous three nights on Lake Como).

Room Tip: Splurge on a suite with a balcony I thought our brother-in-laws room even more amazing than ours - o...

We stayed here for two nights in l'Orient. This room is really very stunning with a huge decorative headboard above the bed and a beautiful marble mantel piece. This room (although very elegant) was still only a standard room and was facing the main road. This didn't cause any problems however and we were unable to hear much, if any noise, from the main road.

In the evening we were given a list of breakfast items and we had to tick what we would like for the following morning. There is no limit to the amount of things you can order. I can recommend the hot chocolate which is the most delicious I have ever tasted. It is really thick and chocolatey without being sickly and is made by a company called Ciobar. They sell it in the supermarkets for about 2 euros for 5 sachets.

When looking for this hotel you have to push through the tourists to get in to the courtyard where Juliet's balcony is situated. You will see a cordoned off section on the left and that is the entrance to the hotel. On the way out you can cut through the shop located in the courtyard if you would like to avoid pushing through all the tourists!
