“The best accomodation we had in Italy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2012

We were in Casa Villa d´Arco for the last night of our short family trip to Italy at the end of october.
All members off our family agree that it was the top accomodation which we had.
Nice rooms, bathroom with steam bath and of course very kind Vittoria and Roberto.
They managed reservation in near restaurant for us where we had fabulous dinner.
Breakfast was very rich with fresh baked cakes which we got to take with us to the plane.

We stayed two nights at the end of our Italian holiday and were absolutely delighted with Vittorias and Robertos warm welcome. Their house is 10 min from Verona on the way to Lake Garda. Restored with much love to detail, very comfortable with special features such as a steam bath in the bathroom and breakfast in the garden with selfmade pastry and bread from Vittoria which are incredibly delicious. Parking in front of the house, the rooms facing the very quiet grand courtyard. Roberto will give you many tipps and advice on the best and most interesting spots in the region. Over all it was a perfect end to our tour!

We were looking for somewhere to stay near Verona airport before we headed off to Lake Garda for a week. My boyfriend found this place through TripAdvisor and we could not have been happier.

As soon as we arrived we were treated as though we were part of the family. We were brought outside to sit in the most stunning court yard and given cold ice tea and the most amazing fruit platter.

We were then shown our bedroom which was on the top floor of the house and we were blown away by the beauty of it. The house itself has a lovely rustic charm with everything immaculate and beautifully restored. Our bedroom had a beautiful oak bed with crisp white sheets. The bathroom had a lovely marble top with a large basin set into it. The features of the room were so lovely the we didn't want to leave!

The owners were particularly helpful in recommending restaurants nearby and for places to visit for our holiday. We left with maps and an abundance of advice on where to go in lake Garda.

Just when we thought it couldn't get any better, we came down for breakfast only to find the most amazing spread of food. We were the only 2 staying that night but it didn't seem to make any difference to the options and quantity of food available. We had fresh fruit, yogurts, pastries, cakes, croissants, ham, cheeses and bread, all extremely tasty and beautifully presented.

All in all, staying there was an absolute luxury and somewhere we would love to return.

From the minute my parents and I arrived to the minute we left, we were attended to. Not too much not too little. Beautiful property and comfortable distance from the bustle of beautiful Verona. Vittoria was an amazing chef. My mother is from Italy and lives a few hours east, and commented that she has never had such an excellent breakfast. The pastries are made in house and a few were typical for the region. Roberto assisted us thoroughly until we had full confidence in our approach and travels into Verona. Truly a delightful visit in a beautifully restored 16th century home / court.

My husband and I just returned from a fabulous trip to Italy visiting friends. We stayed at Casa Villa d'Arco and we had a wonderful time there. Guests are treated with special care. The accommodations are very nice and the breakfast and refreshments were delicious and elegantly served in a beautiful garden setting! I highly recommend staying at Casa Villa d'Arco. The owners are very personable and made our stay very enjoyable!

Everything was just fantastic from the first minute we knocked on the door till the last minute of leaving. It felt like we were staying with old friends. Roberto and Vittoria were very friendly and caring. The place itself is old and dignified, the rooms renovated according the 16th century style, so you could almost feel you were living those days. We deffinately want to go back and take some friends with us.

We had a great experience staying at Casa Villa d'Arco for 6 nights. Roberto & Vittoria are excellent hosts, and made us feel very welcome and comfortable at this lovely B & B. Vittoria is an exceptional cook, and the wonderful breakfasts presented to us in the beautiful garden courtyard were a special treat! The rooms are beautifully decorated and furnished, very clean, and well serviced. Great care had been taken to make sure that everything was just right. The setting of the B & B, in a decades old convent compound, provides a special and very restful outlook. Roberto was extremely helpful with all sorts of advice and assistance, which made our stay in Verona all the more enjoyable and relaxing. The B & B is on the outskirts of Verona city which really appealed to us. It was a nice quite environment, easy to get to into the city, but with some good local (non tourist) restaurants within easy walking distance. The location was also easy for us to explore lovely surrounding areas such as Lake Garda and the Valpolicella region on our bikes.

The B&B has been created in an annexe of an historical residence of the 1500’s; this is located in an area which is strategically placed for quickly reaching the cities of Venice, Padua, Milan and Mantua. A small distance away, there is the civil airport of Villafranca and Boscomantico for the ultralight aircraft with parachuting school, from the autostrada motorway and the Lake of Garda. The B&B is also a departure point for visiting the renowned hillside area of Valpolicella and Lessinia which offers a number of cycling and wine-gastronomic tours of the typical cellars of the producers of the Amarone, classic Valpolicella and Recioto wines. The European "Adige-Sole" cycling track passes right beside the B&B. The owners, who manage this as a family run establishment, are friendly and always ready to satisfy you in every way, only too happy to guide you in the discovery of the city of Verona, "a Unesco world heritage site", and its culture; you will be able to start the day with an abundant sweet and savoury buffet breakfast with homemade biscuits, cakes and jams which, in the warmer months, may be enjoyed in the garden. The rooms have en-suite bathroom and period furniture and look out onto the house’s enchanting courtyard where complete peace and quiet reigns. There is a daily change of bath linens. The ideal place for a stay for those seeking tranquillity and the beauty of nature. ... more   less
