“Very nice caffe”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 30, 2013

What a place! I was as much surprised by the very high service standards and the waiters in tailcoats as for the very high quality of poducts they offer. Prices are high but it is worth seeing because this place loated on Piazza San Marco is unique on earth!

“Perfect for a special occasion ”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 30, 2013

Surroundings are fantastic and the service and ambiance superb. Prices on a par with the very ordinary cafés in the square although €20 for a coffee and a hot chocolate may be considered excessive...

“Pretty, historic cafe, but not worth the expense”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2013

Our guidebook forewarned us about the prices in Caffe Florian, but we decided to experience a coffee and pastry in the early afternoon given the history and reputation of the place. Although a nice location overall, we were sat in a particularly dark area of the cafe, and the seats were not very comfortable. The waiting staff spoke English, but were not overly friendly or attentive, and had an air of superiority. We had an English breakfast tea, a "traditional" coffee, and then a piece of cheesecake. It came to almost 40 Euros. The sweet tasted nice but I've had much better. Don't get fleeced into trying the traditional coffee press. The coffee is brewed and filtered at the table, on top of the cup. This took too long, such that the coffee cooled down before being able to drink it. It (I) also made quite a bit of mess. Save your money and go to one of the many great little cafes in Venice away from the main square.

“Great place, great coffee and cakes”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 21, 2013

A visit to Venice would not be complete without a visit to the Caffe Florian at the Piazza San Marco. Yes, the prices are somewhat steep, but you don't go there every day and the setting, the interior and the delicious cakes, hot chocolate and coffee, offered in a mind boggling variety, make your visit worth its while.

“A must in Venice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2013

Hot chocolate with scones at tea time...and live music!
Club sandwich with champagne for brunch...! The champagne comes with a bowl of fresh strawberries on crushed ice!

Pure moments of pleasure in this romantic city. A must!
