Description: You may fall upon Trattoria Da Fiore restaurant in Venice with cries of delight not only is it a charming, laid-back trattoria run by a native Venetian family, it is also incredibly affordable for this high-ticket city. Near Piazza San Marco, too, so its perfect for every kind of tourist or business noshing. A small, historic, charming spot with a separate space for those who wish to just nibble cichetti and drink a glass of wine, Trattoria Da Fiore has the beamed ceilings, warm plastered walls and dark wood seating and white table linens all typical of Venetian eateries. The menu is Italian and Sergio and his two children pay particular attention to the choice of wines. The house specialty is pennette da Fiore for two with olive oil, garlic and seven seasonal vegetables, though some swear by the zuppa di pesce alla chef brimming with just about everything that swims, perhaps followed by sgroppino al limone to finish. Youll find Trattoria Da Fiore full of both tourists and locals, and something of a triumph.

“Good food, fantastic cichetti, but the staff...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2013

The bacaro is one of my favourites for cichetti in Venice, very good and tasty, provided on a constant base from the restaurant kitchen.

I have also tried the restaurant, with fresh food and relaxed atmosphere.

At the bacaro the place to sit down is very limited and the place, provided its quality, is always very crowdy. just few tables inside and a couple of small tables outide in the calle.

The only very negative point is the staff: on average they are very rude, never a single smile, it seems like they're annoyed and disturbed by the presence of clients that, by the way, are indirectly paying their wage!

Despite this, the place is very good.

“Quaint Buzz with great food.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2013 via mobile

The the entrance to the Restuarnt has a small bar area where Italian Tapas is served on stools placed in the small street. Foodies congregate out the front which really does add to the atmosphere of this place. The grilled fish plater was very fresh as was the crab pasta that my wife tucked into. Finished the night with a great assortment of both soft and hard cheeses with a small pot of honey for mixing with the Parmisian styled varieties. The service was warm and friendly which always adds to a great night out. Try this place, you won't be disappointed.

“First class dining”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2013 via mobile

The restaurant is extremely well placed for those looking for somewhere to eat just close enough to St Mark's Square to be convenient, but far enough away to avoid the standard tourist fare. Excellent Venetian specialities, with sensibly sized portions, served by attentive but unobtrusive staff. We ate from one of the set menus and enjoyed a leisurely, beautifully prepared meal. Wine was a bit pricy, but was of good quality. Not sure I'd describe this as fine dining - more very good quality osteria.

“One of Venice's Finest”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 2, 2013

Perhaps the top fine dining in Venice... expensive, but worth it. Check their schedule as they are closed at times for breaks. Must make reservations.
