“Best dinner of our three week trip to Italy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2013

We loved it here. We were in Venice on the final leg of our three week honeymoon trip. It was recommended to us by our B&B. There are so many restaurants in Venice which all look great but we really wanted to avoid the tourist traps and eat like the locals do. It's a small place so reservations are probably essential. It's very easy to find - we walked from The San Marco District and just used the standard tourist map they hand out at all the hotels - took us about 20 minutes to walk but we stopped for some drinks at a few other bars along the way. We ate at 9pm which is a good time for people watching. There are four tables outside, small tables for two or three people. They are situated alongside a quiet canal. The are a few more tables inside and also a couple of seats at a bench top in the open restaurant window which looks out onto the street - we thought those seats looked nice too. Lovely cosy atmosphere- just the right side of rustic - great food, wonderful service with great wine recommendations - in general, the more we enjoy a restaurant the more courses we'll have - we shared a starter, had a pasta course each (delicious), shared a main of grilled fish with potatoes and vegetables (yum) and had a desert each (my peach sorbet was wonderful). When the bill came we felt it was fair considering the food quality. All in all this was the best meal we had in Italy and one which we will always remember. Would recommend without hesitation!

“Delicious!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2013

We stumbled across this gorgeous little place after failing to get into Riveria. What a find! It was perfect. Gorgeous little locally run restaurant - daily menu based on what is in season. The ravioli was simple but so so tasty. Service was very friendly and very helpful. The wine by the glass selection was all very good and they were very generous in their servings! A great little find - highly recommended - cant fault it.

“Best pasta dish ever!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2013 via mobile

Wow!! This place had the best pasta seafood ever. We also tried the fish filet john dory with tomatoes and capers. That was very good as well. The sauce is light but the flavor from oil and fresh veggies and spices makes it so delicious. Yum!! Next time I am here in Venice, i'll definitely be making reservations here!

By the way, they close at 10:30. You can make reservations either for 7 or 9 bc limited table space. Only 4 tables outside and a handful inside. The waiter spoke excellent English and was very friendly.

“This was a standout in Venice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2013

Look, Venice has about 38,000 permanent residents and, at any given time, 150,000 tourists. There is, in places, a EuroDisney look and feel to one of the most gorgeous places in Italy. This, at times, carries over to the food as well. To be clear, there are A LOT of really good restaurants in Venice and I encourage you to wander away from St. Marks to explore and find some calmer neighborhoods with interesting, less bustling culinary options.

One of these is Enoteca Ai Artisti. Yes, the food was spectacular but, unlike previous reviews I've written, the standout here was 1) our waiter Alex; and 2) his ability guide us through perfect wine pairings. Further, he was exceptionally prompt, polite, attentive (without hovering). I can't say enough about this guy.

That said, the food really was about the best we had in Venice. I strongly recommend the soft shell crab appetizer. Outstanding.
