this is a good place to go for a dinner.
we choose it based on trip advisor and were not disappointed
The Food is good, service is decent could have been better but the place was extremely busy.
The dessert were ok
This is a decent place for a dinner at 30 euros per person including wine

“Great authentic Italian amidst the locals”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2013 via mobile

We have been travelling on our honeymoon for the last 4 weeks and have been searching for good places to eat away from the pricey, poor quality tourist traps along the way. Lonely planet pointed us towards the Antica Birraria. All I can say is... Brilliant. We had a huge meal consisting of Sicilian muscles and clams for entree, a pasta and a large pizza as well as beer all for 46 euro. A definite for those who appreciate authentic Italian at a reasonable price! Highly recommend it!

“Friendly and nice- huge portions!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2013

This is a very reasonably priced restaurant with good food. It is very big and noisy so this is not the place for a quiet romantic dinner but great for large groups and families. We arrived with no booking but were easily accommodated inside ( outside was all reserved). The food is not touristy although we were a bit scared it would be. The roast baby rooster was a whole flattened spatchcock which was tender and juicy and only 14 euro. We were unable to eat dessert because we were all too full. There are great beers on tap including those in the German weisse style. All-in-all a casual delicious meal

“The best place to eat in Venice!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2013

If you are looking for good food and drink at a reasonable price in wonderful surroundings then look no further! We loved this restaurant so much that we went back time and again during our stay in Venice. Staff are attentive but not over-bearing and the atmosphere relaxed so you feel you can take as long as you like and people-watch long after you have finished eating! They were so kind as to get us a plate of cheese (not on the menu) just because we felt like some cheese after our main course. A really good meal with aperitif and a litre of wine is around 50€ for two people - now that really is good value in Venice!

“Value in Venice!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2013 via mobile

great value for money and delicious pizza. In what is otherwise a mainly tourist city, this restaurant in a quiet square is a breath of fresh air. And the food delicious. But get there early as it fills up with locals and tourists alike as time goes on.
Tried the Sospiri - wild boar and wild mushroom pizza - amazing. And the Santamarta - thin beef, arugula and lemon oil pizza. Delish. Top end pizzas at €12 on average. But they start from €7 so you can really do good value in Venice. We also had a half litre prosseco and 2 draft Italian beers and the total bill was €46.
Cover charge €2.50 each
