“A good dinner”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2014

This was a very plain restaurant with a very good reputation. We began with extremely thin slices of swordfish and monkfish, then grilled monkfish on skewers with oranges and tuna with onions, supposedly a Venetian dish. We were still a bit hungry, as the portions weren’t very large, so had dessert, followed by espressi.

“Excellent fish restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2014

This is a bit off the beaten path but its worth the walk and make sure you book before you get to Venice
I had the tasting first course which is excellent and then a grilled fresh fish which was also excellent
The service was very friendly and translated the menu for us
This is a great restaurant for fish lovers but my wife does not eat fish- I would like to see a couple of non fish dishes on the menu as there is only one option and if you can't eat fish don't go
Otherwise don't miss it

“Fabulous food, lovely environment off the beaten track”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2014 via mobile

We came here on our last night and wished we had found it in day one. The restaurant is a few hundred yards off the waterfront near Arsenale. Easy to find, warm welcome (we booked that morning), multilingual. Everyone sat outside in their shaded vine covered courtyard. We had their antipasto tasting menu €27 each) - we tasted around 10 different starters, all of which were sublime. Then we shared two pasta dishes - both seafood and finished with wonderful desserts (zabaglione with home made cakes/biscuits; and a truly delicious ricotta and marzipan mould with pistachios) and cheese. A bottle of local Prosecco (€15 - nice and dry, just right) followed by a glass of local red and, for the dessert, a lovely glass of Graticcio. Perfect. This is not a cheap restaurant (but then what is in Venice?). But if you like good food (total cost €175 plus tip), well presented in charming surroundings, this is a must. We will aim for this place on our next visit.

“Decent (not great) Food but Over-Priced and Petty Charges”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2014

This place was recommended by a local as good, very affordable seafood. Perhaps it used to be affordable, but now it's most certainly on the expensive side, and not warranted. The service is good, the food is solid, but not marvelous (with some exceptions--the tuna appetizer was fantastic, for example) and by no means memorable. DOn't bother beyond the seafood. Our pasta with seasonal vegetables was basically spaghetti with soggy eggplant. But what really bothered us was the pettiness. Wine portions (for those of us who ordered by the glass) were miserly, for no good reason. Water was 4 Euros a bottle! And then, there's the egregious "surcharge per person" that so many Venetian restaurants are charging now. We had no issue paying 27 Euros--which is a lot--for the seafood appetizer sampler, which was tiny and hit or miss. The mussels were minuscule, the crab pate awful. The crab was tasty, tho. But we were more disenchanted with what we saw as a classless way to charge a few Euros more.

“Heaven if you love seafood”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2014

This was our best meal in a week's stay in Venice. Do what most other people do and have the mixed seafood antipasto, a multi-course array of interesting and delicious fish and seafoods with a wonderful basket of several types of their own bread to go with it. The wine list was an interesting read with some very reasonable choices. The desserts too are very good, especially the zabaglione with Venetian biscuits. The service is expert and friendly, and the courtyard is a lovely place to spend a couple of hours. But you must reserve, this is a popular place with tourists and locals
