“Wow - what a find !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2011

We stayed in this little beauty for a few beautiful nights in early June. Despite wandering aimlessly past the little laneway housing the B&B when we first arrives, that little frustration soon passed when the host Giorgio was awaiting our arrival with cool drinks and a wealth of information.

The room is on the top floor of an apartment block, currently undergoing renovations to the stairwell - so if a steep climb up a few flights of stairs is a concern, this may not be the place for you.

The apartment is like a home away from home - great size bed, kitchenette, breakfast table, fridge - everything you need if you are trying to cook for yourself and save a few bucks. Giorgio also provides a sensational range of breakfast goods for you, topped up each day when you're out. Brilliant ! He is such a lovely bloke, with some of the best recommendations for dinners, drinks, bvars, restaurants and travel tips in what can be a very busy place.

The B&B is 50 metres from a lovely Piazza, and a number of restaurants, cafes and osteria line the street leading to the Piazza San Marco. Once you know the way, the local vaporetto stop is less than 5 minutes walk.

Overall a brilliant stay - I would recommend it to anyone with no hesitation.

Our stay at Santo Stefano was charming, clean and the host, Giorgio was the most accomodating. His directions were right on. his advise as to eateries, transportation and most important to us, his flexibility made the stay a pleasure.

Room Tip: Our room had stairs, be advised.

This B&B is perfect. The room is spacious, fully equipped with kitchenette. Clean, bright, top floor (no noisy neighbours), no lift. Lovely owner and very helpful. We can really recommend this B&B.

The B&B Santo STefano is located in the San Marco District, only minutes away from the Academia Bridge. It is very easily accessible by vaporetto and too far fromhe stop if you you have suitcases.
The room has got everything you can think off, the facilities to prepare your own food including fridge, stove, pots and pans - everything. The room includes TV, AC and a very clean and presentable bathroom. Best of all is free Wi-Fi access which is quite costly in Venice.
The owner, Giorgio, was very helpful and it was a pleasure to have met him
Highly recommended for a true Venetian experience.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2009

Venice itself is one of the most spectacular places I visited in a 7 weeks European holiday and this accommodation helped to cap off an amazing stay.  Lovely big room with kitchen with all things required to cook most things.  Large bathroom, whole place clean, except floor gets a bit dirty because it's an old building.  Owner Georgio is lovely, made us feel very welcome and offered assistance with all manner of things from good restaurants to location of supermarkets.  Location was in a gorgeous little alleyway in a quieter part of Venice, felt authentic.  Noisy at night due to Baccario (bar) downstairs, however, not much can be done about that because all high building in narrow alleyways are noisy upstairs.  Breakfast provisions were great and the tart that Georgio left for us on the first day was a very nice and a lovely touch.  Would recommend this to anyone (except for anyone with problems with stairs, it's quite the hike to the room). Well worth every dime
