We reserved three nights here, and phoned to tell them that we were arriving at midnight. We were told they would be no problem, and someone would be waiting. We arrived to find a note with a telephone number to ring on the door (no sign for this B&B, by the way -- which doesn't inspire confidence), but nobody there. We were told by the woman at the end of the phone that somebody would arrive soon, but after one hour of waiting on the street at 2°C in January, nobody had arrived, and the woman first stopped answering the phone, then turned it off completely. We were stranded at 1 AM in the streets of Venice with no hotel. We left a note on the door asking somebody to call us, and we received no call -- no apology, no explanation, and no hotel. We highly recommend that you DON'T book with these very unprofessional people. We were lucky to find ourselves another Hotel at 1 AM.

I looked for a long time before settling on this accomodation. It is really beautifully decorated, clean and quite central in Venice. We stayed in the romance room, it was spacious with a jacuzzi tub.

However, Venice is quite difficult to navigate therefore the B&B was difficult to find, the lady running the place only speaks Italien with the exception of No,which she yelled at me and then went off in Italien. This was a bit disheartening. The manager runs more than one property, he does speak english and was very nice.

Breakfast was not a larger, there were only a couple of pastries and juice, crackers and tea. We ate but we did end up going for an early lunch.

Overall, this place is a good value for your money however make sure to get directions from mapquest from multiple taxi venues to make sure you can find it (I had the directions but the taxi dropped us off at a different part of the island).

If yopur planning a break in Venice I can thoroughly recommend the Diamante BB in Venice. Situated just off Camp San Luca (a short distance in from Rialto and the ACTV stop).
The Diamante only has three large double rooms (each themed) and breakfast is served in your room each day at a time you decide. The room we stayed in was the 'comfort' room with a double bed, fully equiped bathroom with a hot tower rail, TV with Italian channels and air conditioning. The diamante also has a 'live-in' lady who is friendly, helpful and you can be secure in the knowledge that you are looked after.
The Diamante uses a swipe key entry system for the interior and exterior door as well as a normal key for the room.
We will definately be returning to the Diamante as its exceptional value in a fantastic location in the centre of Venice, close to shops, restaurants, vaporetto stops and all the major attractions.

This B&B is in an excellent location for exploring Venice - less than 5 minutes walk from the Rialto and 10 minutes from St Marks Square we couldn't have asked for somewhere more central, more friendly and at such a reasonable price. It felt less like a B&B and more like a hotel where you had room service every morning delivering breakfast. The staff were always friendly and accommodating and it's definitely the place we'd stay every time we return to Venice.
It's perhaps more suited to couples and single travellers than families as they only seem to provide double rooms - however that means for couples and singles it is a peaceful haven in the heart of an extremely busy Venice.
It is a little difficult to find the first time (head for Campo San Luca and it's just off there) but by using the pictures on this site and directions from google map (make sure the address matches the one above as google seems to offer lots of B&B Diamantes in various places) we found it with minimum fuss at 10.30 on a Friday night.
We picked up Jo-Ann Titmarsh's 'Venice Walks' on the recommendation of another reviewer on here and would thoroughly recommend it ourselves as a great way to see areas of Venice you might otherwise miss out on. It is a little out of date but nothing that can't be easily worked around.
Between the book and the B&B we had a fabulous holiday and will definitely be heading back as soon as we can.

When looking for a hotel in Venice I was shocked at the number of hotels that wanted $400 or more for rooms that didn’t look they had been renovated in the last 50 years. B&B Diamante turned out to be an excellent alternative. The rooms were modern, spotlessly clean, large (on European standards), and had good air conditioning. The location near Rialto and San Marco was a convenient, easy walk. I think this hotel was a bargain at less than $200 when compared with the alternatives.

I’m not really a bed & breakfast kind of person so I was a little concerned but it worked out perfectly. It feels more like a very small hotel (only 3 guest rooms) than staying in someone’s home. They typically have one staff member that lives at the hotel day and night to assist guests. There is no dining room where you are forced to meet the other guests. They bring a breakfast tray to your room each morning at the time you select with your choice of coffee, cappuccino, juice, croissants, rolls, and jellies. I found it to be a small but enjoyable breakfast.

Keep in mind that this is a B&B. There is no hotel restaurant, bar, spa, or business center. You’re in Venice! Why would you want to eat in your hotel when there are hundreds of interesting restaurants with great views all over the city?

I do agree that the first time you have to find the hotel it’s a bit tricky. Make sure you have a map and you look for the house number because there is no big sign. After you go back to the room a couple times you will get the hang of it.

The only negatives for me were not having wireless internet service or any English channels on TV. But I’m willing to make those tradeoffs for a clean, modern room at half the price of other hotels.

We stayed at the Diamante – bbdiamante.com – from 22-March-2009 for 6 days.
The booking was through Thomas Cook that used EasyJet. It was cheaper than booking the flight and accommodation separately.
We had looked at Tripadvisor reviews before we went and all the ones that recommend the Diamante we thoroughly agree with. The location is spot on – a 2 minute stroll from the Rialto Bridge and 10 minutes from St Marks Square. We had the orange room and it and the bathroom were spotless. The hairdryer was good and the ladder radiator got very hot if needed and dried smalls overnight. The ladies who looked after the place were very pleasant. The only nit we could pick was that there was no table in the room, just a shelf that held the TV so breakfast was a little awkward to eat. One of us had to sit on the bed. We should have asked to sit in the kitchen.
Before we went we used veniceconnected.com to book airport transfers, museum tickets, 7 day vaporetto passes and public loo tickets. The veniceconnected office was in the airport and we thought we could exchange all the emailed vouchers there but we could change only the ones for the vaporetto & loo. The museum one had to be changed at a museum eg the Doges Palace. The airport transfer voucher is exchanged at the Alilaguna office on the dock about 500 metres from the airport exit – turn left and keep going under the covered walkway. All the tickets were cheaper than paying in Venice. We paid 5 Euros for 10 loo tickets and to pay cash was E1.5 per visit!!!!! – and that was the low season price. However they are all spotless and have an attendant.
Venice prices are eye watering but so is its beauty - somewhat spoiled by ubiquitous graffiti which does fade into the background after a couple of days.
We took a book called ‘Venice Walks’ by Jo-Ann Titmarsh and did 8 out of the 12. Very easy to follow and gets to the nitty gritty of Venice. Much better for us than just wandering. We also took an Insight FlexiMap which being laminated was convenient.
We’d go back to Venice at the drop of a hat and we’d go to the Diamante if we did.

We stayed at B&B Diamante at the very end of a backpacking journey around Europe as we couldn't find a hostel... I don't think we could have stayed in a better place if we tried! We stayed in the 'Relax' room, which enormous and had a jacuzzi and two sofas. A touch difficult to find, but everyone gets lost in Venice once - if you head the Rialto Bridge it is pretty easy from there. We arrived from Budapest by night train at 7am, and amazingly our room was ready for us already! The place is spotless and really well located, only 5 minutes from San Marco square. Breakfast was basic (mostly bread-based) but free and delivered to your door. We would definitely recommend anyone to stay here, the standards are that of a 5 star hotel, for 1 star prices, you won't find a better deal in Venice... STAY HERE!!!
