“Great location, nice clean room, good service.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2011 via mobile

Firstly, addresses in Venezia are hard to find if it's your first visit. This hotel is very close to the Rialto ferry stop. It's a long walk with heavy bags from San Marco, so make sure you take the Rialto ferry from the airport!

The hotel is in an excellent location on San Marco. The room was very nice with nice bed and furniture. Staff were friendly and breakfast was delivered to the room at the time you requested.

We booked this B&B for 2 nights through booking.com and gave our credit card to ensure reservation. When we got there they told us they had no such booking record from booking.com. I had to pull out my own print out of the confirmation form booking.com to show them. Then they spent hours to find another place to put us. At the end they put us is this small, old, and smelly apartment (God knows who this Apt. belongs to) without AC or fan and charged us 30 euro less than what we booked. They told us this is a great discount. We had no choice but to pay them for it is kind of high season and there's no place with vacancy. Do not go to this B&B!

Stayed for 2 nights, must admit I disagree with peoples comments re: language barrier. My Italian is almost non-existant and had no problems with either of the staff that I spoke to. They were very friendly and helpful, allowing us to leave our bags prior to checking in as we arrived early. I was disappointed with the location but that was mainly down to booking.com incorrectly showing and describing it as being on St Marks Sq, it's not that far, maybe a 5 min walk, but it was for our 1st anniversary and I'd decided between this B&B and one other, both described as on St mark's sq and would definately have booked the other had I known this is not on St Mark's. The room we had was the Summer room, it was ok. Not very big, but then I imagine it's normal for Venice. It could do with freshening up, walls were marked and need a lick of paint. The aircon was nearly non-existant, left it on for hours and barely felt any difference which with the heat and humidity was a bit of a pain. Had breakfast served in room but nowhere really to put it except on bed which wasn't ideal. Nice bathroom however. Only place in Italy I stayed in without any internet either, could do with setting that up. Overall, nice enough place, decent location but could do with updating. Felt a little expensive for what we got especially compared with what we got/paid everywhere else we stayed in Italy (Rome, Florence and Sorrento).

We stayed here for one night - before a cruise. We were a family of 7 people and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the stay. Centrally located about midway between Rialto and San Marco, extremely friendly and helpful staff, nice, clean, large and modern albeit basic acccomodations (no frills). Airconditioned but no wifi or lift (hotel is on the first floor). Little hard to find - but follow the directions given by other reviewer - we did and managed perfectly. Breakfast served in the room and they will gladly make additional cups of cafe latte or cafe. Will definitley visit again.

Good location, good service. The room was ok but it was impossible to close the curtains completely so early morning the sunbeam appeared into the room. Not a big deal but something to improve.

Well, I wouldn' t say that I am completely satisfied staying in this hotel. We stayed in the romantic room which was clean and quite comfortable with a large bed. The breakfast, standard one, is served in the room at the time you choose. For me, it was not so nice eating inside the room. The thing that I did not like at all was that our room was very dark due to the fact that the window was opossite to an alley.
I confess that its situation is magnificent, close to all. I found the previous review very helpful in order to find the hotel, many thanks!!!
BUT, do not stay there if yoy don t speak italian!!!!!!!!!!Ioanna does not speak at all and I could understand her because I can speak spanish. I cannt understand why people that live from tourism do not speak english!!!!!
I have visited other places in Itay and they know the basics...Our flight was postponed and we arrived one day after, I tried to explain but it was useless..We had booked the roomvia booking.com and according to the cancellation policy. we paid for the night we lost even though it was not our mistake.

Stayed at BBD for two nights. Location is outstanding - hotel is between the Rialto and Piazza San Marco in Campo San Luca, but closer to Rialto. If coming from Piazzale Roma/Sta. Lucia Train station (which we were), take Vaporetto (waterbus) 1 or 2 and get off at Rialto (closer than if you get off in San Marco). Take Calle del Carbon which will take you straight to Campo San Luca and S. Paternian (street where hotel is located).

A swiped key card is used for entry to the room and an exterior door. The room and bathroom are both spacious, modern and clean. There's a small TV with only Italian channels. Breakfast is served in your room per your requested time - packaged toast, croissant, pastry and a cup of coffee - adequate, but nothing to write home about.

Venice is such an enchanting city with a lot of character, easily explored on foot and the vaporetto. Would recommend buying a pass for however long you are staying, example, 24-48-72 hr pass, etc.; a few rides on the vaporetto pays for itself. Can also use the same pass to go to murano and burano. If doing the gondola ride, go on Sunday, mid-morning to afternoon, seems to be the least expensive time; always negotiate the price.

Would stay here again, but will also check out Hotel Serenissima - same great location, not as modern, but quite good by European standard, and cheaper.
